Hobby Park DS Race Sept. 23

dernit...working all day thursday followed by school at night. is the sunday workday still on?
what time in the afternoon? will it be after 5: pmTen and under free!!!! Definitely race day registration. We will be out on Thursday Afternoon to work on the course if anyone is able to make it out. I wish it were a little drier.
will you have dirt on thursday? if so, i can come out and work on friday morning/early afternoon if anyone wants to join me.
What about 12 and under?

nothing to photograph yet really. just imagine a cleared out section of woods off to the right at the first small turn after the start mound before the first double.
And an old guy with his pants down diddling himself in the woods.
...i figured you already had plenty pics of that so i didn't bother
side note: i was out there on sunday and some other dudes were riding as well. some old guy parks and then sits on the corner of the start mound and lights up a cigarette. he just sat there looking all creepy so, as i'm chatting with the noob near the start mound, i bring up the topic of the recent sicko bust.....the old dude wasn't there when i came back up

What time does practice start? Anyword on Prizes?
8-11 for practice. Cash for pro/expert, prizes for the rest. top 4 in each cat. unless enough pro/exp we may try to go 6 deep. Prizes furnished by Paul's Cycling and Fitness(not sure what but 500 dollars worth) and I'll have stuff from 661, Royal, Jamis, Gusset. Also a big thanks to everyone who helped out yesterday especially Chris and Dave who brought and drove the bobcats. We had at least 20 people turn out to overhaul the course. It was also great to see Ellen Adams out and about and it looks like her recovery is going well.

Have they made any changes to the course from last year? not for nothing, the fact that one lane was significantly faster, and the fact that we only raced one run per heat was kinda bs. if i remember correctly, Herndon was the only person to advance out of the right lane. anyone got pics (or if any of you W/S guys could take some pics of the course) that would be sweet.
nevermind my last post, i found the thread with the pics of the work day. sweet job guys.... should make for tighter racing keeping 2 courses almost all the way!

I might comeout after all, altho i doubt ill be doing any kind of racing, i havent rode in forever... work to damn much ... i will however have Jr with me !!!!!!! hehe ... i just need to see if a buddy will trade days with me so i can be off ..
Is this race the NC state championship for DS or just part of the massive "Sandy's Southeast Gravity Series"?
The SSGS. However we can call it whatever we want. OK I've added up the prizes and we should be at over $1000 in Prizes plus cash for the pro/exp. I've also put up a sweet 661 watch for best trick after the race. I've been informed by race organizers that I have no # plates so please bring any plastic #plates you have and we'll use those #'s. Doesn't matter what race it is from.
Pick up some Dixie paper plates.
Nothing rolls more ghetto grassroots than that.

i was too busy racing/holding the gate/heckling/making hobby park jokes to get any decent pics. i'm sure andy's wife took some w/ that huge lens of hers
i only got a few shots of noah and 1 of matt keller with another jr. rider i think. that kid is sooo fast.
great race, lots of fun...too bad it was hotter than a redneck pedophile at hobby park on RC plane day!
i hope everyone keeps their Dora the Explore number plates, they'll be worth something one day..i promise

oh yeah, i just remembered. as we were leaving, the crew from pauls showed up and mike told me to hang out for a bit. turns out noah got 2nd overall in the series and got a HUGE medal + $30! he was so stoked.
