yea the recommended pressures are only whats recommended... it is basically intended to get you in the ball park of where you should be... and then adjust for personal preferences from there.
Honestly, how goddam difficult is it to figure out that if you put that much air in and its too hard, to take some out? Who can't figure that out, and goes on a forum to ask there?
Somebody should take away anything pointy from you too, just in case.
I went through this too with my Pike 454 Air U-Turn. The difficulty in setting up this forks air pressure is that Rockshoxs' suggested air pressure is way too high. I'm a clydesdale at 240lbs and Rockshox said it should be 170lbs for both pos. and neg. air pressure. This is way higher than what the actual air pressure should be. The fork would not get more than 3" of travel even on 4-5' drops. I ended up with 140lbs positive and 120lbs negative. That is a pretty big departure from the suggested air pressure. With that in mind, it would seem to the novice Pike user that there must be something wrong to go so much lower with air pressure to get the desired setting. I did what this monkey did and asked for feedback from other people using this fork and arrived at the perfect air settings.
Only asking...
Sure I've tried different pressures and figure that 80 p and 70 n is what I need
But I wanted to know what other riders are using.
If you dont like questions like that, dont reply!!!
Go and drink some cold water. Maybe some hours away from the computer will cool you down. Maybe you will find real life. Maybe you even find some real friend, (Not virtual ones...)
