I may have lost two shovels, pick ax and thankfully a bunch of empty plastic water bottles lazy downhillers left behind at Slurpee. Itlooks like it's on fire along with the Sweetwater Trail and Mt. San Miguel.

News:
Two 18 yr old Ramona kids were busted looting an evacuated home for.....beers.
356,000 homes (households) were asked to evacuate as of 10:30am this morning. Nuts.

Alf, Rolling Hills Ranch is ordered mandatory evacuation now. I hope the canyons in your hood stay out of this..

Doin ok aside from alittle smoke inhalation (stupid customer was smoking in his car). Sluck's gonna be sad next time he goes back to slurpee. His favorite bush to crash in is probably gone.

Alf, looks like your pad is still ok.
View from Bonita Athletic Club parking lot. Mt San Miguel base is burning on the far left of the pic.

Choppers are dropping water from Otay (or sweetwater).

Close up of one of drops.

View of downtown SD skyline amidst the smoke from Chula Vista.

For a short period of time, there were flakes of ashes falling from the area near Eastlake.

The evac center in CVHS is pretty empty. We're talking about displaced people from the La Jolla of Southbay here.

Did the goat make it out ok?

My folks live over the hill from there, so I was clearing brush Tuesday. Fortunately firefighters stopped it at the 94 on the west end of the 94. Crazy seeing the choppers pulling water out of the Cottonwood golf course, unfortunately it wasn't the first time I've seen that.

Couple of pics taken of the prelimenary damage in the Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego. Taken by my dad yesterday (thursday), he works for SDG&E and has been out there since Monday with the firefighters helpin keep the houses from exploding because of the natuaral gas and propane. He says that everything would be quiet then all of a sudden it ould sound like someone is throwing granades at them (Gas lines blowing up).

It's been pretty crazy to be involved with this fire, from working 14 hour shifts to nearly being evacuated on Tuesday this has been one helluva week.

Insane that the two major fires are less than 30% contained.

i'm lucky that i'm in central Vista and relatively out of the way of the fires...
my grandparents and my aunt, uncle, and cousins live out in Rainbow on top of Rainbow Heights and they were called to evacuate, but stayed because my uncle cleared a brush line with his dozer and if something did happen, they have fire hoses and a water tower... plus the wind stayed in their favor until everything was a ways away from them.

i wonder whats up with Bjanga and Mastercycleman...
