Be careful with Totems, they are hit or miss. Both of my friends who had them had bushing issues after the first ride. RS sent them both new lowers, and one ride later, the same problem again. Stick with your Marz, they are far more reliable. Or if you want a single crown, go with a new 66, they are sick.

Above you on the podium.
I know 4 people who have them, (two are air, one is two-step, and one is coil). None of them have had any serious issues.
The main problem has been with the coil, which blows through seals in about 20rides.

Also watch out if you buy a Totem 2-Step that was purchased by whatever shop you get it from more than about 3-4 months ago. The first batch of 2007 2-Step Totems had issues. If you do buy an older one you can always call RS and check the serial number with them. They were fixing the defective ones free of charge.

Ya i heard about that. Anybody think an 07 Zoke 888 RC2x VA is worth trading for a totem, or is the totem high class?

if you really want to go single crown and rock it light weight (which is what I assume you are trying to accomplish with air instead of coil) rock the 36 float or talas. what bike are you putting this new fork on?

Totems are about as reliable as a Fiat. I've seen it firsthand. I Wish they would fix them because I like the concept. The actual execution is where they failed. Maybe fixed for this next year.....maybe.

My '07 1.5" steerer totem solo air works flawlessly. There's a little break-in period, but now it is quite plush and ramps up for big hits. There's a little click at the bottom of the stroke but an mtbr's review claims that it is the air cartridge seating. I keep my bike upside-down when it sits overnight.

I've been beating the snot outta my totem coil for 4 months now and not a single issue. Snowshoe, Diablo, the Gnar in Pisgah and Wilsons. I have two friends with the air totem and they haven't had any problems either. Way stiffer then a fox 36, i mean not even close to being the same fork. I think RS had some bad lemon totems in the begining stages of production of 2007 and they got a bad rap. Seems to me they are on top of it now.

Yep, I am one of the guys Jonny is talking about. I have a Totem Air and love the thing. The only fork I know that feels better is a Fox 40RC2. The 40 is a little stiffer and thats about it. The Totem is much better than any other fork I have had in the past and I have had most of all of them.

Can't fault 2 sets of Totem coil's in a years use, bar leaky seals, but that was due to zero maintenance. Once they were repacked with grease, no more leaking.

So much better than my 66's. Everyone raves about Marz reliability, my 66's sh*t thier guts out 3 times in 3 months, and they still arn't right if you read about all the problems people have had with the ATA models.

66's are bottom of the pile for me, 36's own them in every single way, bar 10mm of travel. The Totem feels like a big 36 to me, which is definately a good thing.
