36 Talas R

What do you guys think of putting a 36 Talas R on a DJ bike. I am looking at the Talas for the adjustable travel and that fact that it is air spring so I can make the travel really stiff. The only reason I am staying away from the 32 is because I hate quick release with a passion after breaking so many.

I know it is not an ideal DJ fork but it is not my all time DJ bike. I am building up an all around bike which is going to hit DJ's from time to time when I am at places like Snow Shoe. I can't imagine it being that horrible of a DJ fork when it is lowered to 100mm with a decent amount of air pressure.

a lot of people have run it, i don't see any reason not to get it except for the fact that it is more expensive than any dj fork i've ever seen. maybe a pike would be better?

I've ridden pikes before and just don't like the feel of um and you can't get them as stiff as the 36 since only the expensive one is air sprung.

I run an 08 36 talas rc on my trail bike and the thing rocks for almost anything...def go for it.

i just did a not on one for 29er use. reduced the travel 1''.
but only for bottom out.

actually taking the a-c height down in the air model
looked hard to me. i didn't take it apart. nor could
i see out how.
