All right I finally got around to taking some decent pics and the time to write this thread up. First off I want go give some props to Adam, Carter, Mondo, and the whole blk mrkt crew for taking care of me and making such an awesome frame and other parts and for just being awesome guys to deal with and talk with. Second thanks goes to Eric over at Deity for taking time out of his day to call me personally about my order and so forth and being an awesome person and also thanks to the rest of Deity. Last I need to thank Neil, Sam, Cam, and Kyle and Kevin at transition, Neil took care of me and my friend with lots of stuff and is an awesome guy and so is the rest of the transition crew. Also have to thank my friend Rob for lacing up my wheels and everyone else who helped me with this bike.

As for the set up the spec list is as follows: *updated*

so im confused. heres the story. my girlfriend was going to get me an 07 T-O-P for christmas from ride this. they are sold out. guy broke a deal with her for an 08 riot saying it comes with both vertical and horizontal dropouts. I know the Mob has both but the site says the riot doesnt. Is this lack of knowledge by the Ride-This crew? And i made sure she asked if it was the riot not the mob

q/r has nothing to do with the drop outs, you could probably run q/r with the riot but I wouldn’t recommend it. The 08's do come with a derailleur hanger you can buy for extra if you want to run gears but they only come with horizontal drop outs and the only other thing is they where redesigned for 08. The link for blk mrkt is in my sig you can go there and look at the specs.

thats what i told her! we'll see what happens maybe hes gonna send a mob for the price of a riot??? lol wouldnt that be grand.
I think you're pretty confused bro, the way I understand it, neither bike comes with both sets of dropouts. You can pick if you want horizontal or vertical on the MOB, but they're not interchangeable.

The only reason you saw a TOP with horizontal drops and a QR is because of Transition's wheel with a beasty QR design.

Why don't you buy from a bike shop? They could probably get you a TOP.

The MOB is available in either Horizontal OR vertical dropouts. You have to pick one or the other. They are welded on at the factory and are not interchangeable.

Ride-This.com does have on the site that the Riot is available in either - but this is incorrect. The Riot is horizintal only.

I highly doubt that any distributor would well a MOB for the price of a Riot and lose $200. But it would be nice...

Yes i'm aware of this. Sorry i didn't say "OR". The main point of my comment was that the guy said he had a vertical dropout Riot which from the blackmrkt website says isn't true. Whatevs... what ever comes in will be dope and an awesome gift from my girl friend.

don't know how you got that big of a chainring on there, mine was almost rubbing the chainstay with a 34T
I didn't think I was going to be able to because with the style cranks you are supposed to run 34 max but what I did was but it on the outside of the arms like bash gaurd and it clears and works fine. Though one I get some christmas cash I am going to get some profile cranks and probably run a 28t up front a 13t in the rear

wait a sec... does the frame require an integrated headset? or can a normal one be used. Also, what size is the rear dropouts 10mm? or 12mm? website doesn't say.

I need to know so i can get parts lined up and ready
(i'm new to the hardtail biz)

Yes the Riot uses an integrated headset. Make sure you get a Campy style 45/45 headset and not a 36/45 version. The rear drops are 10mm.

*update*, Well I got some early Christmas money and finally got to go micro drive, shout out to Lifetime Bikes in Loganville, ga for being awesome guys. I have known the owner for quite sometime and he is a down to earth awesome guy who rides anything and everything with a mainly bmx/mtb background and knows his stuff. I came to my parents for Christmas and go to go to the shop which is close by and picked up some cranks and a few other parts here are some updated pics of the bike and pics of the parts. New gearing is 30t up fornt and 12t in the rear simillar ratio to what I had before.

If you in Georgia and near Gwinnett or Dahlonega go check them out

Dope Bicycle!

That gearing sounds a lil hard, and the sprocket looks super close to the stay........

not sure if you saw my post but this is how my riot came out.

08 riot
05 fox 36 talas serviced
DMR revolver hub to mtx 32 hole rear DT
Specialized stouth to mtx 32 hole front DT
Specialized Rythm Tires 2.3
Odyssey 41 Thermal cranks w/ eastern BB
Haro Big Block pedals
Season 25t sprocket
mechanik link half link chain
11t cog in the back
Kink integrated headset
simtra stem
raceface diabolus bars 25.4
season grips
avid lever to bb7 with odyssey linear cable
Macneil capital seat/ seat post with surly collar (copied you on that)

the fork was painted by my lady friend. i reused alot of old parts (bars, fork, front wheel, cranks) but had to buy new rear hub with matching rim, along with the half link chain to keep things tight.

riots are sick, awesome transition from a bmx. it feels just like it cept way more comfortable!

lol chained was tightened and considering I built the bike I am even more picky. Issue was the chain tugs would not tension out long enough and I took these pics after just putting the cranks on but then went back took the tugs off and just pulled it back and tightened it with out them.

xtremedoritoes, I saw yours looks really good that’s awesome what your lady friend did to the lowers, I saw the your threads just haven’t posted lately just been having quick glances on the forums between class and being sick.

Here is a more recent crappy pic of the bike, some one local was going to buy this wheel set and I was going to order a custom set from chain reaction with a ss hub in the rear but haven’t hear from him in a while.
