What happened to the Lahar? Looks like the PDC is borrowing all the parts...
just the fork. i've got similar builds on both bikes. the lahar is hibernating for the winter. the pdc was being gathering dust in the corner & making me feel the guilt of neglect. it's a better bike for the the stuff i ride over the winter (north shore trails) as well.

how does the big betty handle as a front tire?
surprisingly good, actually. i was skeptical due to the really light weight, but they're some solid aggressive grippy treads for most of the conditions i've come across up here. dropping a 1/2 lb+ of rotating weight per wheel makes a surprising difference to handling / acceleration. they do require more pressure that a 2-ply to avoid excessive deflection & pinching (not advised for huge guys riding jagged rocks, obviously), but i like em.

I would agree with you except for that's the direction michelin recommends...I was a little confused too when I first put them on because the tred pattern looks like it should go the opposite way. Unless I got a mutant tire, in which the directional arrow was wrong, I put them on correctly.

Yah, you do have them on backwards sorta.... If you want better braking you need to turn them around. Please don't ask why they have the arrow going to other direction. We have asked them for years to turn it around. They are not going to change their mold anytime soon to fit it.

 and nice bike man.....

ya ti, it seems weird to me on weight but the LBS weighed it for me it is 40 lbs even I thought the fork would make it heavier, its an optical illusion.

Both of your tires are on backwards! You're living my dream of freecoaster downhill bikes and bridging the gap between downhill, bmx and snow!

hah, those are just temp tires. The back tire has a crack in almost every knob, and the front is just too damn big. I just threw em on to keep it off the rims.

^That Chumba is awesome - the chainstay guard really adds to the dirty stripper look:) (you should switch out the white cable ties for black criss crossed shoe laces)

i'm not a big fan of chumba's , but that one is nice .i didn't see a weight listed, so what does she weight ?
Havent weighed it yet, dont really want to hah, But im guessing around 45 ish. Ive been putting off weighing it until i get a new wheelset, and some good tires.

And the shoelace idea sounds awesome. thanks :thumb:

ugh, that frame isnt all that heavy, that bike could be sub 40 so easily, it pains me to see it so fat:dead:

edit: you could start by taking the floater off, i ran it for a while and came to the conclusion that it was only there to make my bike heavy and loud :disgust:
It pains you? Who cares? There isn't anything particularly heavy on that bike...just normal components. I think it was sometime last year that 45 lbs went from average to unacceptable.

In any case, nice 9.5. I'll be rocking mine for another season at least.

I think it weighs right around 40 with DH tires.

I like the look of the floater. I don't race so weight reduction for me isn't much of a priority. I've seen Twisted's bike at 38 lbs so I know it could be lightened up.
