One more if you come. Before we've had between 50 and 60 racers. I'm hoping we'll have more this year cause i sent flyers to TONS of shops and its always more fun with more competition.

I've got a pretty serious problem here! Being a typical Asheville hippie, I live out of my car for weeks at a time(roadtrip!)...and to make a long story short, I lost one of my crank arms on a recent road trip! All of the local bike shops do not carry any beefy single ring cranksets, and lack of money prevents me from ordering from Quality(I work at Cane Creek)....I purchased a new BB(68mm), and it would be absolutely amazing if someone has a crankset that I might be able to use for the race?!?!

In sticking with my tradition of letting broke people borrow stuff for races, I've got an extra Truvativ crankset that should work. PM me if you're interested. But this may warrant an employee discount on a double barrel. :D

Manimal - are you still gonna be out there riding the course on Friday even though there's now a 60% chance of rain? I'm thinking of coming down for the slop fest.

Just tryuing to plan my tire choice before I trek down there. So, how bad is the course after a steady rain? Does it drain well, or will we be racing thru puddles, and navigating over wet roots?

I have an 8" rotor on my dh bike (with the juicy 7) but I have a 6" hayes rotor I could use as well.

Mark- I think I'm going down with Mr. Haley.

I just got done doing some more drainage work today, putting in a drain at the wallride to drain the swimming pool below it.

The course does drain well however, its not an indoor concrete course.. meaning if its going to rain the day before then bring tires that will work good in mud. You can always bring extra tires too if you want to swap out.

we'll at least do some walk through's so i'm not spending all of my practice time following noah on race day. i'm just gonna play it by ear. i'm coming down friday regardless because i really don't want to get up at 430 on sat morning to drive down....and the cabin's paid for.

Wow - chance of rain went from 40% early this week to 60% and now to 90% for Friday. Looks like it's supposed to pass early though - afternoon riding could be fun.

you sure you're reading that right? the hourly shows it starting around 11am and getting heavier until 6pm. looks like practicing friday is out of the question :disgust:

Darn weather.com won't let you copy and paste. Here's what it says right now:

"Rain early...then remaining cloudy with showers in the afternoon."
Let's ignore the part that talks about rainfall amounts reaching 1 inch. :busted:

It won't hurt you to get a little muddy...see you on the trail!
