nah man it was just a dumb comment you made, that mindset will hinder the resorts future, I don't think anything I said was written carelessly, fast without much punctuation; sure... but not carelessly. I sincerely care about the future of this resort, it's basically the only resort (lift assisted spot) within a decent amount of driving time from me.

edit: I want to see it grow, not just stay the same and fall behind and constantly be compared to how it's not as great as this resort or that resort.
You're making me feel bad, you gotta' loosen up & realize when someone is f*ckin' with you.

P.S.

I never said machine built trails were bad, I said riding 8" travel bikes on what amounts to a downhill BMX track is teh ghey.

Then dont do it just listen to slayer and ride giant rocks to prove how core you are all day...you obviously dont get around much to many other areas of the country to broaden your scope of what is marketable for resorts in the mtb industry...

Alright back on track, snowshoe you are doing a great job. Just trying to offer some constructive feedback as to what i've found at other resorts and in talking to other riders.

I love coming to the mtn because it does offer that big mountain wooded feel that diablo simply cant compare to. Has there been talk of building a 6 lane highway directly from pgh to snowshoe? Now that would be a great trail improvement.

the poster above my long post is a good friend and I wanted to give him some hell like he does everyone else, you sounded like you needed some too! It's free all day!

from the sounds of things you sit around and laugh at your jokes... w/ noone else joining in.. must be lonely...

Snowshoe kicks ass Diablo can't compare to Snowshoe and vice versa, way too different... Apples to Oranges, other then being lift assisted...

It's good to have variety, but I would be disappointed to see a rock garden removed to make way for a gentle dirt path. As long as none of the current trails are sacrificed for downhill bmx then all is well.

Keystone had some great dh trails with a little bit of wooden freeride features and then one trail called money that was basically a downhill bmx trail and while it was fun, I thought the best trails were those that combined everything so that the jumps, drops and berms were built into a tech downhill trail.

...but I see the need for trails for all of the guys with slope style bikes that can't do slopestyle.:busted:

I think snowshoe is doing an amazing job, it's awesome the west lift will be running on weekends now. Some constructive criticism about the race courses. I have never been a fan of how you guys design the end of the race courses with tight turns to slow you down. I think it would be cool to have it more open and maybe a big feature at the end, something so you can keep your speed up fast(entertaining to watch). It also makes for a more enjoyable end to watch, since it is the easiest place to watch from.

Good call. Either last year or the year before, or maybe both, they had the big finish line double. It definitely made for good watching, especially when Adam Raphael(sp?) completely launched it on his race run at one race. I say keep something like that there all the time, and maybe some fast, bermed corners coming into it on the slope. Just some race-related thoughts.

In fact I hope to make it up there for more than just the races this summer, so the last couple hundred yards of some race aren't gonna make it or break it for me and snowshoe. It's kind of funny to be talking about little ticky-tack things like that.

P.S. mannhattanprjkt-Slayer rules. So there.

Those tight a$$ turns are the best. When the top guys come down totally pinned, how those are navigated can the mean the difference in 1st or 2nd place. Who can let it go the most yet hold the line???????

haha maybe posting drunk isn't a good idea after all. i feel like an d!ck for saying that, it was totally uncalled for. my apologies.

i didn't mean to rag on Whistler or any resort that offers the same type of riding by any means. the beautiful, manicured trails made famous by Whistler are most likely THE most influential when it comes to attracting new people to the sport (and the resorts). it can be ridden at any speed and at most skill levels, allowing for people to progress their riding at their own speed and help to further the sport and the livelihood of the resort.

oh yeah...not much of a hatebreed fan, sorry.

groomed or not, i would just like more of an investment on more quality trails from top to bottom... not small connector trails between old trails or features in between old trails. i really like riding snowshoe, but every time i ride there... i feel like i'm riding the same handful of trails and variety is the spice of life

with all this said, the last race course was a blast even though it incorporated only a few new sections of trail and wasn't technical.

Thats great news. And SnowShoe opened my eyes to what real DH mountain biking is all about. For the 3 days I rode there I became a better rider. The rough and rugged scary trails are what set the men from the boys it has a world class and world cup trail system. And when I was there they were working on a similiar a-line trail I believe it was called "Ball and Jack". Tons of berms table tops and lots of speed. So for all you goons who think they know whats marketable stick to your Downhill BMX and GTF off the real trails cuz you slow us "Traditional" riders down. Peace out to the whole crew at SS.

Can't we all just get along?
I know some folks comments egg people on who normallly wouldn't comment against another style of riding, but DAM!
If I could only ride one genre of riding I would have quit already!
It's one thing when roadies and mountain bikers dog each other But, when DHers bash on each other for different trail riding preferences
It's time to STF up and go ride whatever you ride! Not taking sides cause I like xc, ds, mtx, dh, freeride and even a little road.
But, it always seems like it's some cryin ass freerider who starts the zit! Usually just showing the rest of us they can't ride anything ungroomed.

Just remember next time you complain about another genre of riding, that it probably states you suck at that kind of riding.

Snowshoe DH is the tits! But, doesn't mean Other places can't rule in someone elses book.
We all like what we like so just appreciate that and respect others for what they like without it having to be GEY - To prove yours is the BEST!

I guess you probably have tons of experience as to what is marketable and what is not? Do you think there is a reason that A-Line at whistler is the most ridden mtb trail in the world? I guess not...:banghead:

just coincidence...

First off this is a mtb forum so if you can't take the discussion you are in the wrong spot.

Second, you said if you complain about another genre then you suck, but you are complaining about freeriders above. I would have thought that one out a bit better...

Lastly, what is wrong with liking some fast stuff on the mountain obviously someone at snowshoe see's a value or power line would have never begun. To blame arguments on ‘freeriders’ is ridiculous you sound like a roadie that makes fun of mtb riders with comments like that. I ride everything from road bikes to XC to dh to tight dirt jumps, so I definitely feel I can weigh in on the terrain variety

i agree...i was just trying to make some constructive suggestions...folks like to turn these into a 'im more hardcore than you' thread.

Again, props to snowshoe for this one...ill be down there on many occasions this summer.
