Started putting the finishing touches on the rack for our shuttle rig today. I put padding on the rack and measured out where to mount the trays for the rear tires. The rack will hold 5 bikes without them touching.

Now when we get the new ranger crew we will be stylin'

Where do the riders go?
For now we can only get four riders, two in the front with the driver and two stand up in the back holding the roll bar. Once we get the crew version of the ranger 5 riders will be able to sit comfortably in the seats.

i really want a 50 for shuttling. you know just park it at the bottom and drive up. kill the trail on my downhill rig and then when i get to the bottom have a friend stay with the bikes and ride the 50 back up to throw in the bed.

12 on the trailer, no touching, drop into place, held only by the wheels. 4 in the back of the itty bitty, sold it cuz the mileage sucked, Chevy Colorado.
I can now choose from my 62 Caddy and my new-to-me lifted 96 Cherokee.
I WANT one of those VW van/buses!!!

Yeah its just pipe wrap insulation over round steel tubing, spaced that way with those angles either single or double crowns drop right in and the bikes don't touch each other.
I think I am going to find a used tail gate for my truck and modify it with this rack configuration, that way I can change tailgates for shuttle trips,

with my dually I can probably fit 6 across

I will post pics after I am done

Fits DH bikes stood up comfortably in the back, more fun driving the shuttle than riding bikes down!

To get the bikes to not touch they are spaced at 11". i wrapped the pipe insulation in duct tape so it does not get destroyed on the first day of use.

The whole design came from the idea of just putting bikes over a tailgate.

T2 rack in back, roof rack. Lots of space inside as well.

We fit 8 bikes and riders in my buddy's Tacoma. No pics of that unfortunately...

That thing is ballin as hell! What'd you do to drop the front end. A buddy and myself are tryin to either slam his Le Sabre or put it on bags... Did you just chop the springs on the struts or get custom ones?

sorry, i wish it was real, but i just took a pic of a standard, rusty celebrity and body slammed it using photoshop. i think it looks ballin' also.

I need to take some pics of my truck: 03 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab/Long Bed 4X4 w/ 31" BFG All Terrains. Can haul 5 guys, 5 DH bikes and gear for a weekend with no problem. You all should do yourself a favor and get a Dakine Pick-up Pad. Mine cost me $45 and i have had it for a year without any signs of wear other than a few pedal pin holes. Just throw the bikes over the tailgate and go.

Do you have any rub issues with your 31's?

My 04' fronty is dying for some fresh rubber.

That VW pickup is great! I always loved those things.... is it gas or diesel?

J

thanks! it's a gasser. i wish it was diesel...1.9TD would be sick!

i'll be swapping either a 2.0L xflow or 16v into 'er one of these days, but for now she cruises just fine with the stock 1.7L and handles the corners like an oversized go-kart. definately makes shuttling an enjoyable experience.
