UHHH! Nope its all flat and desert, what trees there are are too tight to ride around and the ground is slippery moss all uphill too! Its all private property and no ones allowed to deviate from the streets, protected mushrooms keep you out of the woods and there are sasquatch's that eat bikers. So NO!!! No good riding stay away! :D

NW ROCKS!!!!!!!!! So does So cal (becasue i live here now) but NW is by far more advanced and techy!

Surprised nobody mentioned Willamette Ski Area right outside Eugene. $14.00 gets you an enclosed gondola lift all day, there are 3-4 DH trails, each having a few different offshoots. The racing there is pretty sick, sub 4 minutes for the super fast guys & about 4 minutes for us old guys. BTW, these runs require almost no pedalling ; ) They even have pizza's, burgers, micro brews, etc.. at the lodge.

i rode there last summer on my 6point. still in it's infancy, but the place is pretty damn fun.

i hope to see a lot more in the future, as it's only the beginning right now.

the best part about PNW, is the forest service doesn't completely have their heads up their asses:

...and yes, ^^^that is a completely real and legit trail sign.

Not yet, I usually start calling mid May, as they don't update the website very often. Opening week is as good as it gets & all through June, start blowing out a bit in July, totally hammered by August, but still fun no matter what the conditions!

Whatever you do, definitely don't watch this video:

God I hate the riding here!
Looks like a cool spot... but is'nt this guy is looking for DH not freeride?

My .2 is that the PNW definitly has the elevation, dirt, and natural terrain to make it one of the greatest places around for DH not to mention other Freeride and Northshore riding. Port Angeles, Whistler, and some choice spots on the DL toward the Mt.baker area alone make it worth moving out here for gnarly, techy, fast DH.

And the trail builders are awesome! I think the innovation that goes into trail building out here with all the care for drainage, properly built woodwork, and trail flow rivals anywhere in the world.

Its Good!

I should also add that the weather here SUCKS! if you can handle months on end without seeing the sun and at least some from of drizzly precipitation a minimum of once a day, all but maybe 3 months of the year... then your ready for the PNW.

Thats not discouragement tactics either!
Born and raised in Woodinville, Wa. Man it sucks as far as gloom and the constant drizzle. Kinda miss it in a wierd way. :brow:

Considering I had an inch of snow in my yard when I woke up this morning...I dont think any passes around here will be opened for at least another month.

P.S. I live in the city.
