The high-frequency sound has been likened to fingernails dragged across a chalkboard or a pesky mosquito buzzing in your ear. It can be heard by most people in their teens and early 20s who still have sensitive hair cells in their inner ears. Whether you can hear the noise depends on how much your hearing has deteriorated: How loud you blast your iPod, for example, could affect your ability to detect it.

all those age ranges are only for non-damaged ears i think....

ive always noticed a really high pitched, faint ring when i pass through macy's or other high end department stores.....it may just be a coincidence, but i wouldnt be surprised if it is meant to be a slight deterrent to young hooligans......it sounds about like what the 18mhz sound like.....

stereotyping bastards!

You obviously didn't support tall beast enough in your younger decades. :disgust1:
I actually went to so many HLAH concerts.

Been forcefully removed from one in fact!!

Whats wrong with a little stage diving/crowd surfing at a metal concert?

I ask you!

All of you should remember that your audio conveyance devices are probably letting you down too - i.e. it may well be you can only hear to 18KHz because your speakers are crap.

I did horrible, thanks for depressing me :(
Now you have an excuse for the wife when you don't "hear" her.

Hopefully tho, she doesn't realize that you're saying she's a high-pitched whiney pita :D
