So here it is, really the first public invite for anyone from Pa, or the surrounding areas to join myself and the handful of locals that keep Blue knob alive during the non-ski season to come out and shred.

At least once or twice a weekend, we make a trip to "Bk", which usually includes regular trail maintence, digging, and a lot of good riding. We not only have unlimited access to not only all of the Resort side, but also the Blue knob State park side as well. The trails are pretty friendly for just about everyone, but they are no cake walk either.

Sunday, April 27th. We usually meet at the mountain around 11:00a.m., However we also may be doing some trail maintence to the mountain Saturday, April 26th as well.

I'm going to guess that most people will need directions; please just pm me and I will get them to you.
Also any Maryland riders, I can meet you In Hagerstown MD and haul you rest of the way. I drive a s-10, so I carry 5 bikes and 3 passengers and their gear comfortably.

Hey man,

I can't make it this weekend but is BK lift-serve or shuttle? We'll definitely have to put together a road trip of MD people sometime soon and come check out your work.

Were all those pictures taken at BK? I swear some of them look like Wisp, Whitetail, and Hereford from races past.

I remember racing Blue Knob in 02-03. Awesome trails, steep and off camber! Even the "xc" stuff was great. It would be really coll to ride there again. Are some of the old race courses still there??

I wish Whitetail would do some DH again. I worked there this past winter and kept throwing the idea at everyone I talked to. Would be so close. Blue Knob looks pretty cool. How far is that from Hagerstown? I'd be interested in a dig/ride weekend.

B.
- anyone know of where to get a load of dirt? need some.

I dont think its that far, tmsracing makes the trip every weekend from md to come shred with us, im sure you could ethier meet up and catch a ride or i will get you directions. getting up to bk to ride is deffenitly worth it, i promise you will be addicted. we plan on riding again this saturday, im new to ride monkey but i will be keeping a well updated thread on pinkbike.

as of right now we have maybe 4 to 5 different trails on the state park side running right now there are super fresh, just getting nice and broke in with everyone riding alot lately. soon we will be getting back over to the mountain side to dig up the trails there once some of us get out of school for the semester. if you got any questions hit up tmsracing and he will let me know or get ahold of me on pinkbike @ letstossgrenades

Sounds sweet! My weekends should be pretty free after a Diablo run this coming weekend. I'll definitely be in touch for some more info/directions. Trying to ride some more places this year.

B.
-still in need of some dirt.

Trip distance: 86.81 miles Time: 1 hr 40 mins, Courtesy of Yahoo Maps.

P.S. You worked at whitetail and you didn’t compete in the winter race? I know it’s a joke, but it is fun watching each other eat shi… I mean snow.

J, I can tell that you and your R/T slayer are hungry for more turkey?

The trails were just beautiful yesterday. I think that was the right amount rain on Saturday, to make the soil nice and loamy.

I was working the Easy Rider lift that day, I got to see some nice face plants. Well, that's what they looked like from the bottom. I was going to enter, but dragging all my ****e up there for a couple trips down a short run, just didn' t seem worth it. Was fun to watch though. May have been better w/o the rain. I actually thought about hiking some runs there this summer. I wish I had a map of the old trails. Anyone?

totally your call man, ive never been to diablo and therefore cant really compare, but for a mountain that everyone used to come race at and a couple of locals keeping it together its a great time especially when the riding is free. Just good riding i dont know what else to really say about it, bunch of guys just riding to have fun ya know

Trails are great, I do believe there are about six trails being maintain by Jas, Jules, and Ned. The two race coarses on the resort side and there are 4 other trails on the state park side.

Bernie and to anyone else,
This weekend we will be riding Sunday. I think 11 a.m. to dark The stairs are calling your name....Bernie

I'm not sure about this Sunday. I only have, maybe, the morning/early afternoon to get some riding in. My bathroom is warzone due to renovation and I need to get some things done. Next weekend may be clear though, let me know when your are heading up again.
Stairs...stairs.....stairs....no brakes......just roll it....stairs....

Would anybody be up for a weekend campout / ride at BK State Park sometime in September? It would be nice to get a big group up from MD way for a weekend.

Anybody have any dates in mind? Dates that don't work for various reasons?

I just booked a week in the middle of Sept for the family at Deep Creek Lake (wisp) to make up for the vacation we had to cancel when my wife's mom died. How about October instead?
