The Gravity Lite 800's (31.5") did just what they said they'd do - go 4" wider than my current ProTaper OS's (27.5") and drop my bars 1" lower. After measuring them mounted that's exactly what they did. I didn't weigh them but the gain felt about the same as the weight lost when I decided to remove my bmx bar ends so it's a wash. Interesting in the closer shot is how the FSA's OS bulge lasts until well after the second bend, whereas the ProTaper's fade out after only the first bend. Should add quite a bit of strength to compensate for the extra width. No trail time yet - it's been raining the past few days.

The 27.5" ProTapers look like cut down XC bars!

probably one of the best titles i've seen in a long time.

side note: if its been raining the past few days that just makes everything more fun.

I used to love the mud, but not so much anymore. That, and our trails are multi-use and deep mtb tracks cut into the mud give the bikers a disrespectful image around here. Better to take the bmx to the skatepark instead!

I'd really like to try them, but I'm nervous that they're too wide for the tracks i ride.

I'm also finding it incredibly difficult to find ANY gravity light stuff in europe, even CRC doesn't stock the bars/cranks.

You can always cut them down. BUT if you think you might cut them near the 710 width it's best to skip the 800's as they have quite a bit more beef (weight) built into them to deal with the extra leverage. Food for thought.

I'm looking for 29/30" really, I was looking at the sunlines but I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the grey color.

How do they feel when you're just sat on the bike? Do they feel too wide? What's your shoulder width?

They don't feel bad just sitting there but I'll reserve judgement for a few real rides.

How do you measure shoulder width? I'm 6'1" and 260lbs with broad shoulders (IMO) and a wingspan of 6'4".
