That's cool. I could see the theraputic appeal to it, but I'd just rather not be bothered. One less thing for me to worry about.
Agreed! I'm just happy to be by myself with not a care in the world out in the sun. Like being on a bike but at least when I'm mowing I'm also earning brownie points with the wife to be spent when I want to go riding. I'm also hoping this mower will help to free up a little more time.

My goof buddy bought a Saturn Sky Redline with his stimilus check...

Nice. That ought to emit more greenhouse gas emissions than 47 poorly tuned 70's cars...
That is incorrect. Greenhouse gas emissions are based solely on the amount of fuel burned.

I believe you are trying to refer to particulate emissions, which has to do with the mower not having a catalytic converter. You are correct in that case.

Specifically the higher emissions would be hydrocarbons, CO, and NOx. This is the case even with motorcycles that have catalytic converters compared with modern cars.

Wanna do my yard too :)
What are you going to do about the snow and any digging?
I thought you wanted a tractor?
I did but they were 4k more with just a mower deck and I'm not willing to spend that. I have a sturdy older mower with a 42" snowblower on it that worked great this year for snow removal.

I realized that but man 6yrs on a car? Why not just get a 30yr car mortgage. :)
i agree, but it's all about the low low monthly payment.. no one cares that in 2 years they'll be upside down in it owing far more than it's worth... but that's good for dealerships who are more than happy to take it on a trade in and selling another car for another 72 months of payment.

I test drove the Sky when they first came out. Little baby turbo is so cute, but it's only a 5 speed. And you can't even hit it with a mallet like you can on the older Saturns, what a waste.

i just made a Stbx run with him & his car... talk about freekin' cramped! Small is ok.. but if you are over 5'5".. good luck... and if you are like me and 6'4", forgetaboutit...

It's more 'cute' than functional.

Doesnt even had a spare tire.. just an air compressor.

I've NEVER been upside down on a car. I'm always even or ahead of the game. I couldn't imagine wrecking a car and getting paid for it and then still owing money.

me either.. but then i put down at least 50% of the sales price and finance for 4 years max.. then keep it for at least 10 years and 240+k miles

My buddy is goofy as hell.. he just got back from a tour in Iraq and is flush with deployment cash.. he lives in a 2 bedroom ghetto house in the ghetto even tho he works as a lineman for south central Bell and make damn good coin. I offered to cut him a good deal on a new house but with this purchase, that is off the table... his note is $520.mo..

When I drove it, I had the top down. When we got back, I tried to put the top up and it damn near hit me in the head (I am also 6'4"). It looks cooler than the Solstice, but it's tiny.

I would have gotten a mower like Stosh :D

the *average* car loan is now 70months (or was as of July last year) ...

holy crap, just did the numbers on that, and if he put down nothing, and just went with the standard GMAC financing for 72 months, he'd be paying $552/month at 9.25%. Jeez, that's a fun little car, but I think I would've taken you up on that offer of a good deal on a house...

edit - and just realized he's paying almost $44,000 for that car over the length of his loan!!

I NEVER in a million years would have guessed that was the case.

You HAVE heard of the 50 year mortgages being slapped down in SoCal, right?
Yeah it's funny, when you compare a 40yr to a 30yr there is such a minimal amount of difference since the rate goes up for a 40yr I was wondering why in the world would anybody do it.

Difference gets bigger as the price of the mansion gets higher. :D

"Look Marge - we can afford the monthly payments on a 15,000sq ft place if we get a 50 yr mortgage!" :monkeydance:
