What did you do? Cross-thread and strip it out? What kind of riding do you mostly do?

on my set of race face's are just shot the axles is all pitted, and the bolt is bottomed out just to hold it on and it is destroying my BB's. honestly i have no idea what is up with it... it is not cross threaded cause i can put it in easily... but getting it out i need to use an impact gun.... and I'm afraid it will get stuck on sooner or later so i figured since i got a new chain guide why not get a crank to :)

Thats really weird. I have Truvativ Holzfeller cranks. They are a bit flexy but work well.

saints are a great crank no doubt. i currently have a set on the hussefelts of the howitzer bb and its also a really nice setup. i went that way because it will allow you to have perfect chainline with a 68mm bb and a 150mm rear end, well if you get the right bb.

I am also running the Hussefelt with Howitzer drive, and I really like the setup, You just need the proper BB for the bike and your off.

If you have a 83mm BB and are looking for some light weight cranks, get the Gravity lights. I'm pretty sure they are 3/4 of a pound lighter than saints, but thats recommended if you are a racer

The Holzfellor OCTs are sweet and pretty light. I've also been looking at the new RaceFace Atlas FR cranks and they look damn good too if you are looking for a lightweight DH racing crank.

yeah, gravity lights are much lighter than saints but i don't think i'd recommend them if you bang your pedals around. after working on various sets of shimano cranks in comparison to raceface and FSA, i think that shimano has the best overall design and value with raceface right behind them. the finish on the raceface cranks look nicer to me just because of the CNC work and everything though, more of a bling factor i guess, but they're more expensive in some cases, at least compared to hones. hones are likely going to be my next cranks, but atlas cranks seem very comparable.

on a different note, the holzfeller OCTs could be a very valid option if you don't mind an ISIS bb. from what i understand, they are isis compatible, and with the great longevity you get with SKS bbs, you could opt for a light (but expensive) SKS bb and then go with the OCT arms. that could be a hell of a setup. truvativ's bb is durable, but is just about the heaviest thing around.

Just to be Very clear, Howitzer Drive is not Isis drive, a Howitzer drive spindle is much wider than an Isis drive bb, you cannot mount hoiwtzerdrive cranks on an Isis BB. its not possible. You can mount Isis cranks on a Hoiwitzer BB, but you will have a rediculous chainline. They are different.

FWIW, every friend of mine that has run the FSA Gravity Lites has bent them.... the light package they offer is tempting but I don't trust 'em.
I just run Saints because they're hassle free, stiff, and not crazy heavy compared to some of the other DH offerings.
I can't wait until the new Saint line that boasts an even lighter set-up.
