Got released from the hospital about 3 hours ago. My left lung is doing much better now and has filled back up. It will take time for the 3 broken ribs to heel up. Now have to make a 11 hour drive home. Not going to be fun. Here is a picture of my lower back. I bet is would have been much worse if I didn't have my Body armor on. Once again that to Matt Griffin for helping me out of the tree that caught me after falling 20+ feet down the rock cliff on the back side of the G Out turn. Hope to be back on the bike in 3+ weeks for some light riding. Just this will just give me more time for the family and my secound hobby (Taking Pictures). Hope to see you guys at the 26West Opening weekend to take pictures of everyone having fun.

Get better dude! sounds like you took a good one! Maybe got lucky it wasn't worse? I always look at things that way, I figure if yah ain't dead might as well...
See your already watching bike videos-or at least that's what looks like is on tv in the background. I have had a cracked rib or two and I know that can be pretty uncumphy!

You talking about the left hander that kinda rises, hips and then drops off pretty hard about 2/3 of the way through the run? If so, I'd noticed the huge drop off to the right side lined with boulders and wondered if/when/who would go off it.

Heal up mang.

My friend supermanned into those rocks 3 or 4 years ago at the Open, really scary but he was fine? Just snapped his seatpost. Def a tight spot and tricky to ride w/out eyeing the death that awaits in those rocks. Heal up bro, I'm out for 4-6 weeks after crashing in qualifying and tearing a bunch of shiat in my right foot. Good decision to hang the bike up, I can't imagine what riding with a punctured lung would be like.

So what procedure did they do to repair the collapsed lung?
I was borderline of having a chest tube put in to inflate my lung back up. They said it dropped about 40%. They gave me a lot of meds, a shot right into the lung to help it inflate back up, oxygen, and watched it for 2 days. I now have this thing I have to breath in a few times a day to help the lung get its strength back.
