Did this around 05 when last year at university, linkage is kind of virtual pivot... I was organizing files on computer and discovered, did not remember... Hope you like it!

Also got this fancy one while first/second year at uni that orange did a proto, but my knowledge wasn't very good by then so had some bearing problems i put really weak ones... And it got stucked there... This was about 03...

Hope you like them ;)

i really like the idea of using a front triangle of a dh bike, seems like it saves a hell of alot of work and time

looks like an orange Frankenstein :thumb:

why are the links on the 1st frame blanked out?

also what orange bike was the donor? the front end looks like a 224 but if it was made in 03 it couldnt have been

Holy hell, that Orange would have ripped through bearings like no tomorrow... what an absolutely terrible linkage design.

borcester rhymes
long chainstays are looooooooong

shock could have gone in from of the BB, saving some space...otherwise it looks really clean.

Dude that linkage makes my brain hurt....very rarely do I come across any weird frame where I can't figure out how the hell it moves.

The orange link looks to have many good features. You can see what he was trying to achieve. It keeps the weight incredibly low and back in the bike. Both are very good things. It also looks to give very good control of the leverage ratio. The only thing is as everything is so compact your going to be talking huge forces. I suspect with a bit of evolution it could be beefed up in the appropriate places and thinned out in others along with possibly a fettling of geometry could me made in to a perfectly competent race rig. I must complement you on the workmanship as well, It looks top notch. Are you from the UK and do you still have this bike? I would be very interested to see it close up if that is at all possible?

really? dude its not that hard to figure this one out...

from what i can tell, the lower shock mount is on the swingarm. Either way, as the swing gets pushed through its travel, the larger of the shock links starts to compress the damper. As it continues through its travel, the smaller 'dongle' link that is attached to the front triangle bracket moves the larger, upper link forward and closer to the main triangle.

Basically its just a single pivot with a shock linkage. this is one of the more interesting executions I've seen of it.

Where's the lower shock mount?? It looks similar in function to a Chumba dogbone link.

looks pretty neat. Those little links in the orange bike probably experience some HUGE tensile force and they look pretty small, but cool anyway. Kinda like an inverted linkage from the Brooklyn dh bike
