So thinning ozone right. No doubt that the sun is WAY stronger now than it was when I was a kid.

So yeah....my kids wear bathing suits that cover most of their fair little hides....

So while in the pool today....it was our first real day of summer....like 99% humidity and 92 deg. The girls were all covered up but like a normal person, I was just wearing board shorts....the water glistening off my body....that's right ladies...take it all in. So anyway, i noticed that despite the sunblock, I was starting to cook. It occurred to me that I should get a "swim shirt" too.

Am I nuts or do other people do this?

give it 10 years "they" will say sunblock was a hoax and never works. I have NEVER used any sun block in my whole life. I am an eastern European mut that never burns.

get better sunblock.

and if you want to get technical, the amount of solar radiation reaching the earth has actually been decreasing over the past decade. hooray for particulates in the atmosphere!

but seriously...

plus the decrease in the ozone in the atmosphere is no longer as great of a concern as it was 15 years ago.

I'll give you a call in 20 years when you're getting a chunk of your nose taken off cause of Melanoma.

Rashguard + Lack of surfboard = You look like a tool.

I wear my rashguard around the house when I get my cod-piece back from the cleaners, but that's about it.

I wear one whenever I am at the beach, mainly because I wear a wetsuit when I am in the water, but in tropical places (like Hawaii) the rash guard does just fine. I have one that is more like a T-shirt than a skin hugging rash guard. It's made by O'niell? and it's a UV guard.

For pools and stuff I don't care, but surfing wise it's a must. It stops the rash (duh lol)

I wear one when I surf, other then that I keep my fat ass off the beach out of respect for others. I am also covered in tattoos, full sleeves, the whole nine, and I like the idea of them not looking like total sh!t when I am 90, so I tend to keep them away from the sun. Same reason I now only ride in long sleeve jerseys.

Yea, the chaffed nipples under the armor thing is about as rad as a raging case of the crabs. I used to have my nipples pierced (drink that in ladies) and would either have to cover them in electrical tape or wear my underarmor shirt under the armor.

I do it for rugby now too. Keep the ink covered so it doesn't get torn all to hell by the ground. I am a pretty pretty princess.

get one of those o-neill 24-7 things, They have a loose fit and protect you from uv rays. I have a hoodie and wear it all the time after wakeboarding.

If it is your own pool why are you wearing anything?
Bingo!

You ever read the ingedients in sunblock? I’ve never seen those words anywhere. You don’t even know what you’re putting on your face, do you? You go, “Oh no, the sun’s out!” It could be zebra cum; you don’t know. You may not like that joke, but you don’t know.

Being one of very fair skin I think it's actually pretty smart to wear something to prevent yourself from getting burned. Even with sunblock 50 on I can still get burned some days.

Do what you gotta do....better than peeling skin or skin cancer.

I don't currently have a shirt like that but have been looking into getting one now that I'm living in Atlanta and the neighbors have a pool!

Fun skin cancer story... my office mate ignored a spot of melanoma until one side of her face went numb. They sliced her skin along the jawline, around her lips and up one side of her nose so they could peel the skin back and remove the little bits of cancer that where infesting her flesh.

Now she looks like she's had 1/2 a face lift...
