meh, the v10 just isn't a nice bike. It is physically impossible to ride it quickly, and everybody seems to rant about how much they hate theirs.

Likewise, Intense gets similar reviews.

theres really only one choice

it may not currently be the case (sounds like there's been some recent qc upgrades), but i've seen / heard of more wonky intenses than sc's. i've been more that happy with the sc's i've owned as have been most of my buddies that have ridden them over the years. sc makes good bikes. the new v10 is hotness.

I have come across many different V-10's and other Santa Cruz bikes while I worked in the bike industry, I did not see a single one that did not have some sort of cosmetic flaw. Then there are a whole lot of other issues that I had with them along with others.

I'm not saying that Intense is perfect, but they sure do take more pride in their product and it shows.

More pride in there work? No thats what they want you to think. Thats why they cant put there frames in the jigs correct and the comeout crooked.

Many frames from both makers have crossed my creepy hands and then also been built and test ridden by me. I am just making an observation from my first hand experince.

M6's are nice but the new V10 has some irresistible curves

Nice!

I just got mine and its truly a dream bike.

I sold my 2008 Sunday to get this, that bike was not plush, but it was fun to ride.
Also owned a 2008 Demo 8 and it was very plush and fun to ride, but little long.

Santa Cruz warranty department is the best. I bent my 06 Nomad out of alignment and they quickly sent me a new frame. When I started having problems again, I was offered an upgrade. Thats why I have this beauty, but I had to wait because the list was a mile long. Was it worth it, hell yeah! dont get any ideas though my circumstances were unique and I had to pay the difference, but it was not unreasonable.

Santa Cruz takes care of their customers! that alone is a selling point!

Get the V10 you cant go wrong.

How does it ride compared to your Sunday?

Was at the LBS the other day and had a good close look at there M6 and SC for my next possible choice of bike.

The workmanship on the M6 won hands down. There was a couple of small blemish marks on the SC, although it was nice the M6 looked a better choice.

P.S. My M1 is still going well after 11 yrs.

to me its like night and day, the extra plushness builds your confidence, makes you wanna ride faster. The bike felt right at home when shooting through the steep technical stuff, and when I wanted to slow things down the bike stayed stable. The bike had a really nice balance to it.
It does what you want it to do.

The Sunday WC 2008 felt a little rough going through rock gardens, I felt like I had to grip the bars a little tighter to get through some sections. The bike was fun to ride, but I just didnt like feeling everything in my bars. I even spent a few days of trying different settings on that Vivid. When I switched it to the DHX 5.0, the bike felt livelier and sat higher in the travel, but it still lacked the plushness I felt in my Demo 8 2008.

Now I have the 2008 V10 and the new 2009 Fox DHX 5.0 that I ordered direct from Fox, its super plush.

Cosmetic flaw? Lack of pride? Total load of Bull. Both great bikes, both have had issues. Both have hype, Intense hype is REDONKULOUS. CS? *I* wrecked 2 frames (My fault), 1 warrantied, other crash replaced - both turned around <2weeks.

I have 3 currently (Chameleon, Bullit, VPF), 5 historically. The only bad thing I can say about SC is their powdercoat eats crap. No problems with my Kona's, IH', or Jamis' either. (Excepting shattering chainstays on my Dakar 3x -- but then it's and FSR and an XC bike -- not meant for Plattekill........

So, its June of 2008 and you have owned:
Sunday WC 2008
Demo 8 2008
and now you are on a V10 2008.

All three of those bikes are over $6000 retail if you buy them complete.
Seriously?

Seriously, I knew it would take a while to get my V10 so I bought these other bikes to ride. I usually just buy the frame, and swap parts as needed. I also sell all my parts on ebay, here check out my account: I got a DHX 5.0 shock for sell and I ship international

Also you can check out some of my videos @: www.youtube.com/bikemuscle

I've bought a lot from Tani and those guys at the path, they have a lot of stuff there but I buy mail order too. I saw Tani at Telonics when I was trying my new V10, He was trying his new M6 and was kind enough to shuttle me in his fully stocked limo, jk, but it was fun. Tani is a good rider, he was killing it on that bike. I didnt realize how many trails they got over there.

Dude, 3 bikes, living large, that's a cool 18G's on bikes this year and it's only June! I wanna get in your line of work... Buying and selling bike parts on EBay. You must be connected over there at Santa Cruz, I need an XL Superlight for climbing.

All the new 40's are black or white - no more gray. Wish I would have known that last month when I ordered mine...

p.s. DHR for the win.

That's nuts. My Sunday with pretty much the same build - Formula Ones 180/203, Boxxer Team, Gravity Lights, 2.5 Minion 3C's, Thomson post, Sunline bar/integrated stem, comparable wheels - is a hair over 40lbs. That would make the M6 frame/shock right at 7.5lbs
My frame is 10.5 lbs with ti coil. Btw your build isnt even close to mine
.Here are a couple of reasons my ride is lighter than yours: I am running a boxxer WC, duraace cassette, ton of ti bolts, 2,110 gram wheelset, light headset, 290 gram pedals, 135 gram seat, 105 gram stem (different than picture,) Thomson masterpiece seatpost and a bunch other light parts. So the only thing are bikes have in common are the cranks, brakes
and tires; it's all about the details.
