Anyone with some piercing knowledge?

My girlfriend has a Monroe piercing, and has had it in since last August. This morning she took it out for a job interview that wasn't so hot on the face metal. Long story short, she can't get it back in after trying all day. For lack of better term, the outer male part with the smaller gauge fits in, but the female clasp portion with the larger gauge that it fits into doesn't. She iced it for a few hours with no success. I didn't think a piercing could half close up that quickly?

Anyone with any sage words of advice, or should she just go to a piercing studio and see if they can put a taper through it? She's 700 miles away from the original piercing place, so...yeah.

heat the pierced area, ice the bar. then shove it in. It hurts like a mofo, but that's what you have to do.

When I had my toungue piercing I had it out for about 45 mins for a dentist appointment....had started to close up and had the hell out of it to get it back thru.

I would go to a shop and get it put back in. After that, if it ever has to come out, put on of those flat clear plastics thingamabobbers in it.

If she's applying for jobs where face metal is not okay, why is she putting it back in anyways?

I had my lip pierced for over 2 and a half years. I took it out for less than 24 hours, and it sealed up completely. I couldn't get my larger hoop, or my smaller hoop shoved back through.

The body is an amazing creation.

She won't be working there, doesn't want to. Most places in Santa Cruz don't give two sh!ts about piercings and the like.

I'm not a fan of it, but it's what she wants...From afar if she has the jeweled end on it and not the steel ball, it looks like a gnar mole. At the time of piercing I attempted to encourage a lip ring but to no avail...
