Hey, when you buy a Fox 40 do you get a set of extra titanium springs to fine tune it to your weight?

I think this was the case with 07/08's too but not sure...

Just wondering if you can just orderthem to your weight.... cos if you buy the fork and thenyouhave to buy the spring its lots of cash.

40s come with three springs, the ti med already installed, then a soft and a firm steel spring. You can order a soft or heavy ti spring, not sure of the cost though.

yeah thats what i ended up with. how about spacers? the fork comes setup at 8" right? the manual says there should be 4 spacers on top for that and i have 3....it seems that that is all that i could even fit in there.

If you have a true '09' 40 then as I understand it, the stanction tubes have been shortened 13mm. The actual damper cartridge shaft has subsequently been shortened as well. However I believe to have the ability to utilize the same springs as years past, they've simply used one less spacer, which should be about 13mm each.

Hope that helps.

The 09 Fox 40s have been coming with a 40 lb/in blue Ti spring installed. They also include a 35 lb/in purple and a 45 lb/in green (both steel). The orginal 40 came with the same 40 lb/in blue Ti, but the 07/08 40 came with a 45 lb/in green Ti.

that seems right to me. if i bottom and measure it out i come up with 8" so 3 sounds right to me, let alone cramming another spacer in there would be nearly impossible.
