Haha 4g's will get you whatever you want.
Just dont buy a new bike, its overrated,
get something used, save you some $$
Other than that, have fun, remember that its not all about racing, and just because your bike weighs more than forty pounds does NOT mean that you cant pedal it up, as well as down.

Hey I'm looking at getting an 08 Iron Horse Expert i have question?
1. I'm 5'8 1/2" and 130 lbs should i get the 16 or 17 frame and should i be looking for a different spring cause it says 300 lbs usually is for people around 150 to 160 lbs?

I'd say go for the smaller size.
I'm 5'10" and i ride a 16 inch frame and it feels just right,
as for the spring, i cant really say, although I'm 140 lbs and i ride a 450 lb spring on my demo 8.
Hope i helped,

I am 5'9 and 135 and i am riding a 17 sunday frame and it fits me perfect! I am also running a 300 ibs spring and it is also works really well. i would stick with that.

I think you would find the bike would ride a lot better with a softer spring..that is a LOT of spring for your weight unless you are hucking off buildings. (I am 185+ and ride a 350....rode the 300 a bit when I first got the frame)

for 4gs you could build a new dh bike... check out frames like Astrix or Mountaincycle. Solid performers which will leave you some duckets for parts... :D

i have a 250# on my Manitou Swinger. havent tried it yet because its still AT manitou getting repaired =O

most manufacturers have 250#, but usually thats as low as they go, depending on the size too.

as for titanium...do a search for more lengthy explanation. basically lighter and the "bling factor"

the sunday will go nicely, but from many rumours going around it may not be great to go with the brand since it may go down the toilet a little.
you could go for something like a glory dh1 and upgrade slowly since your getting into it.
titanium springs usually save half the weight of a normal spring. obtanium have a 250 im fairly sure

Sunday != beginner

But whatever floats your boat and stuff. I personally wouldn't drop $4k on my first race bike. Hell, I spent $900 building my 3rd

First, don't forget to spend money on safety equipment. We use alot so it will cost you some..

Second, as you have so much money you could do a lot of smarter things with it than spend on a first bike, like go riding at resorts a few times (which will help you a lot in developing). As you don't really know what you like until you've had a few bikes, you might as well buy used and swop them twice a year. You'll probably also be crashing a lot more the first years, so effin up a brand new frame would hurt more to damage (aesthetically aswell as when you're gonna sell it).

That's my experiance.
