What is the cheapest lodging in/around Whistler? Aside from the staff lodging that I have heard about.

2 bedroom condo in the village for 129/night. Kitchen living room, 2 bathrooms, and laundry in room. Eagle lodge condos. I think you book thru allure direct. We couldnt beat that price. Sleeps like 5. 2 queen beds and a pull out couch.

When will you be up there Aaron?
Just found out I've got 5 days off to play the weekend of Jul 26-27, so was thinking about trying to squeeze in a trip to the big "W." But it's just toooo much dinero for it to make sense. So it looks like a road trip to CO to ride every possible chairlift that is operating.

But would still like to know the cheapest place to stay in Whistler. It sounds like it's find a cheap condo and pile in as many bodies as possible.

We did 7 nights at Whistler thru vrbo.com. $110/nt, two bedroom, two bath, laundry, kitchen, private hot tub on deck, community pool and hot tub. PLace was a little small when assembling two big bikes at the same time, but other than that was right across the street from Mc Donalds and the grocery store. Good times!

Be sure to visit DUPS Burritos! Cheap, fast and good!

Well, I will be up there for a couple of days beginning on Sunday the 3d of August and probably staying till the 6th or so. We got a place for 2 nights and it is less than 100 bucks...it should be cheap if split 3 ways?

Check out some of the Hostels in the area. Last year, a friend and I stayed at UBC (University of British Columbia), and Fireside Lodge just a mile or two away from Whistler. The Hostels have full kitchens, grills, and travelers from all over the world. We payed like 24 dollars a night.

What was the bike storage situation there? And is the place pretty nice? My brother just returned from a month-long "tour" of Europe and stayed in hostels over there. Plus the idea of some hot Sweedish girls that are interested in my "skills" seems like a reason to look into this. :monkeydance:

Both the places I've mentioned have bike storage areas that are locked up every night. Fireside Lodge is a private ski lodge in the winter but is opened up in the summer to alleviate some of the cost for its members. It's well kept and the staff is super friendly. The Whistler information center has a list of all the hostels in the area.

I stayed at staff.
Its a 10-15 minute walk up the hill from The buss stop at the back of the lifts adjacent to 'Heart of Darkness' track.

If you check out intrawest (the company that owns most of everything there), they have deals that include accomm and a season lift pass for cheap.
Only thing is its BASIC as all ****. And pretty grotty, but for 14 days riding with accomm and a season lift pass it cost me $600.

With more people it may be worth getting a place at one of the lodges, but if your in pairs, its probably the cheapest option
