Hey Everyone,

I have had the opportunity to introduce a few riders in to the world of mountain bike riding and downhill. They live over in the Winchester area and I will be heading over there to guide them through some trails. Is there any beginner downhill trails near this area. Or any trails period in this area. Any info would help me a ton.

Thanks,

Austin

Stephens City, VA
yeah, I live on stephens city and I am practically in winchester. there arent many places to ride, but the places that I have found are really nice. elizabeths furnace is a while away but it is definitely worth it. there is always sherando park in Stephens city and they have hiking trails that are really fun to ride on. I ride there almost every day. another good place to go other than element is black bar bicycles. they are the nicest people and can tell you anything you need to know. They are going to start having rides every Thursday I believe in different areas. are they kids or adults because i could use some local ride buddies! haha.

THE BURG but missing BOSTON
There are plenty of places to ride up there. I ride there all the time....Kennedy Peak,Stevens Trail,31 Flavors,Wolf Gap,WaterFall,Scotchhorn. I could go on but you get the idea. There is a grocery store just outside(east) of Strasburg. They are also a bike shop. The guys name is Matt McHale. He used to own Half Moon Outfitters which he moved to the grocery store. Check him out and get a National Geographic Map. All the trails are on those maps. And yes you have to pedal up or hike. Ask Matt as well he may be up for showing you some trails. Don't get frustrated though when he climbs away from you on a V10 with a 888. He's a mad man!!!!!
