What would be the perfect bike build for livewire?

Me and a bro were discussing this on the lift the other day while scarring ourselves up at northstar.

If you were to build a single bike just for racing livewire what would it be?

travel?
fork?
shock? (if any)
tires?
wheels?

lets see what the general concensus is.........

My bike is perfect for Livewire. It is green, and it goes real fast! A bit off topic, but I just wanted to let everyone know that N* is now offering lessons and guided tours, and, in case you didn't already know, we are open til 7pm on Friday nights for those who want to start the weekend early. Pass the word!!!

That you are a dork but you are still hawt....
dont be jealous, I will let you hold my medals if you want?

I will even let you take podium pictures, I will point at you and whisper wacky things about you in the ears of the trophy girls and we will laugh and laugh.

soon you will be known as that little hispanic/asian cripple boy wearing the cross your heart who came to the races.

its okay javier, we know your ready to kill your family and run out of the state since you have beaten all of your XBOX games and run out of jergens and tissues.

soon the day will come when you shall be a mex-asian man again.

untill that day, I have the last word.

Agree with most of the parts, except why a Talas? Why not just a 36 Float? I'd also go with heavier-duty wheels; that trail has some serious rocks towards the top. Maybe Hadley hubs laced to Mavic 721 rims? Frame could be substituted with any of the following: Giant Reign X, Specialized SX Trail, Transition Bottlerocket, Jamis Parker, Mountain Cycle Battery, etc.

I was thinkin' TALAS because that's what I want for my Nomad and it's in my head right now. FLOAT definately better. Any one of those frames you mentioned would definately work.

You can run the SX's. My buddy runs them on his SOCOM up there and has had no problems. I think that just boils down to how light you are etc.

I run my BR up at N*. I have at 66 rc2x up on front with seven inches. The extra squish helps with the relative roughness of the trails up there, and I haven't felt too held back by the 5.5" in back. In fact, I feel loads faster down Karpiel and Boondocks on my lower/slacker BR than I did on my Dirtbag set-up. It's by no means a racing rig, but it does feel really well set up for doing just that.

my bike does very good on livewire

nomad
36 talas
DHX air
light tires and wheels

the only thing i would change on it would be a coil rear W/ TI spring shock rather than air, the air gets stiff through the quick and small chatter near the end after the step on step off and i would go with lighter wheels cause there are hardly any rocks on that trail and the ones that are their you can easily miss

I would go with an Ellsworth Moment frame, those frames are VERY plush and that would help with those terrible braking bumps.
66 ATA up front
Magura Louise Carbon Brakes
DT Swiss EX 1750 Wheelset
Maxxis Larsen TT tires

the bicycle that i ride would race it best.

honestly, during the race run on live wire, a dh bike might almost be best becasue of all the over shooting of jumps that will happen when pedaling as hard as possible.

but what do i know.
