I'm getting to go up on the hill. But, the storm only raged for 45 mins around midnight. I race today and I hope it stays dry the rest of the day. The pros practice for 3 hours and then we get 2 hours. So, by the time we race it could be good and tacky.

That is a sweet shot - I'd better not let my Turner see that pic or it might disown me. Saying I wish I was there is a massive understatement.

Good luck today and remember, you're either first or you're last!:happydance:

another cool jersey on Jay Delagro second place ds 40+ expert
Sounds like Jay's flashy jersey helped determine the outcome of the U23 Pro race

there were numerous flats and crashes in the jrx ranks.

ethan had neither

the funniest one was the jrxer who complained and was asking for a rerun................reason: flat

the worst one was a jrxer who stopped for people walking on the course in a super high speed section, not getting a rerun because no marshals saw it........if there was one in that locatoin the walkers would have cleared out (it wasn't me)

It probaly would not have mattered.
This is his fist season racing DH and he has been getting better and better all season, and finishing right behind Neko.
Too bad its an Olympic year and the Worlds already took place.
Winning like he did would have guaranteed him a spot which is about what it takes for some riders to get picked.

There are 7 seperate women's beginner/sport classes.....and 9 total women racers out of all of those fields combined. 5 of those 7 classes only had 1 rider. Could they have combined ages...? You need to have at least two people to call it a "race"...I for one would be a little pissed to pay entry fee to not get a chance to actually compete.

On another note, the pro/expert course is looking dope this year, this is the first national champs i've missed in a couple years..oh well. Look forward to seeing pro results tomarrow.

I had a great time this week at Mt. Snow. It was my first time out on the east coast, so all the roots, woods, rain, grass, trees, 6 min courses, etc... was new to me (and my race run shows it). Ended up 33 out of 38 in Ex. 19-24. Hit a tree in the second woods, broke my front brake lever off. So, I pulled off the trail, thought of what the f*ck to do, and decided to stuff the hanging lever behind my number plate and ride it out. Heard the guy behind me enter the woods I was at the bottom of, so waited about 20 seconds for him to pass, then took off after him. I was pretty close on him though Slick Rock Hwy, with no front brake which was a bit scary. Hit a rain bar coming out of that section which ejected my lever into my wheel and ripped the housing right out of the caliper and shot the whole thing off to the side. I yelled at whom ever was there to grab it for me and kept going. The next woods was going great for my situation I though. Then towards the end there was an "S" turn to creek crossing that had a straight line you could also take. I took the straight. By that time my rear had faded from over use, grabbed brake to slow down before the g-out creek crossing, and looped out. Ghost rode my bike off the course and back flopped right into the mud and water... got up, laughed it off. I could here people laughing at me, or with me... I hope. Some guy ran up and asked if I was okay, I said "for being brakeless, I'm great." He yelled "props for riding it out!" as I headed for the last wood section.
Crossed the line at 7min 30sec. The worst race run of my life. But a fun weekend overall and an interesting race experience.
I've never given a "race report" before, and usually find them a bit annoying because of some the people that write them. But I had an entertaining run, and thought I'd share.
Oh, and if anyone has any pictures of me, post em up. Bib 1168, all white Royal gear, raw DHR with a 40.

Nope, don't really go there much nowadays. Glad to hear he's healing up though.
Wondered where you were. Who am I going to e-fight with?
It sounds like he is doing a lot better. The kid pins it anyway so as soon as he is back on the bike he will be better than before

I dont think you will be seeing Mr. Ulmer on a bike for much of the rest of the season
