This trail is super steep, loaded with tons of off-camber roots and huge granite rocks everywhere:

This is right after the 1st switchback:

Here's a good view of the V-Rock! from below

The "V" Rock! from above:

Roots and rocks and defanitely a line:

This is The Bootleg Drop. On trail 26 you have to go under the rope part way down. Super steep with death on the right with the quick 2 1/2 foot drop. This ones only 2 1/2 feet but the approach is way hard and the landing is tricky too:

It was Damian of Decline's favorite trail too. He said something like "If you can pin this trail you will feel like you are riding at a world cup level".

I was going to take new pictures of trail 26 as these are from last year, but I wanted to tease you guys with these and see if Profo would chime in?

you feel like a man after riding that trail, i was pretty sure i could beat a grizzly bear into submission and teach him to ride DH when i got to the bottom. you think to your self what did i just do?! i am a golden god! then you realize you drive a minivan and have no girlfriend... so you have to ride it again for that 45 seconds of fleeting glory. that is downhill. precious few understand this.

Kidwithbike,
I wish I could have said it like that. If I could have thought of that you took the words right out of my mouth.
We haven't seen you in a couple of years I think. Hope we can make you feel like that again.
Today was awesome! 1st of all it was sunny all day! Weather has been a bit wet in this part of the country for the last week or so?
Whiteface is gnarly and all, but we had mostly beginners today riding the lower mountain only. 6 friends from Nebraska having the time of their lives, a couple of cool guys from Holland, hard core riders from Bromont (Montreal), just a great mix and certainly new people turned on to the sport. Today was GREAT!!!!!!!

Here is a much better picture of the Bootleg Drop someone else just put on another site. The line is dead center and goes up to the right.

This trail is hard core.

That trail takes the longest to dry out. I had no problem on The Faceshot that is the upper mnt. single-track used for our race yesterday, but man The ledges kicked my butt yesterday. I too have ridden that trail in the rain and had no problem. Different story yesterday. I walked most of it. was just too heavy on my brakes and knew better.
So Jim Mac you coming to Whiteface this year?
I assume you'll be racing but non race weekends or weekdays are great! Then we can take a run?
