on the second to last picture does the slope of the trail transition to flat or does it start to go back up again?
It goes to flat for a while, then a short uphill (maybe 10 metres) a then you are on a flat again which then leads to some more downhill. I'll post a pic when I get home.

Edit: After the short flat and the short uphill you get here (maybe 15-20 seconds of ridetime between the places)

off da hook!!! Is it lift access or shuttle?
Lift access.

I came home from Are a week ago. Almost all snow was gone from the upper sections. First poster's pics looks like freezing cold.

You can get about 12 min run at longest if you ride without breaks from the very top to all the way down. My opinion is, it's the best place to ride in the Scandinavia: nice trails for everyone's taste, very good lifts and cabin(s), cheap lodges in summer time, everyone understands English and shops have pretty good stock of spare parts. If you go there to party, I think you should go some other time than in july (I have been there now for two times and the village is QUIET).

For ppl more interested about Are:
Last year's video from our Are trip is up on my ridingJKLcom-channel in pinkbike. We did some filming this year too, I'll be releasing it later...

Looks like a lot of fireroad-riding.
None of the pictures are taken on fireroads... The pictures from above the tree-line is from a MTB-specific line. The ones below treeline are also just for MTB.

Åre (sweden)
isn't it the last time this year for this festival in are? anybody know why?
yes unfortunately that's true,
there is some problems between the people organizing the event and the owner of the ski resort (Skistar AB) from what i've heard.

but in my opinion its not that big deal.
the mountain is still here and the trails are in better shape all other weeks than mayhem festival.

if you are planning to go here i can recommend you to visit Åre in late august or september, less people and better trail conditions

the lifts are open daily untill 31aug and fri-sun untill 28sept
10am-4pm
