I'm going to be in Amsterdam for 3 days (Aug 9-11) on my way to the Enduro Series at Les Deux Alpes and was wondering if anyone on here lives around there and wouldn't mind showing a happy go lucky american the local treats and secret spots? And...I like to party

I just got back from there not that long ago so I guess I can offer some advice. It depends where you are in the city but if your in the redlight hit up St. Christopher's Hostel for a chill bar scene (mostly college age crew, lots of backpackers) and 1euro yager shots. If you're into the coffee shop thing then I'd recommend De Dampkring and Hill Street Blues as two of the best...both some of my favorite places on earth. I wish I was going back there again real soon...consider yourself lucky

None of the party spots need to be secret. Just hop from coffee shop to coffee shop. You'll be blasted in no time.

Then eat stroopwaffels and Vla till you puke in the canal.

Yea, thanks for the suggestions. I was just more or less trying to see if any locals wanted to meet up and join me in the festivities. It's always cool to meet new people from different countries that are into riding bikes. Although, I won't even have my bike when I'm in Amsterdam. I got that thing shipped to the south of France to a friends' mom's house near the race. I'm just going to be hoofing it and raging it. I was going to see if I could rent a motorcycle for 3 days but they're kinda pricey.

Dude, hit up La Tertulia, it was my favorite spot in the whole city, and I definitely did my best to visit every spot I could.

And definitely rent a moto. You'll have waaaay more fun than dealing with trains.
