Have really noticed the popularity of his stuff, mainly his headset. If you dont mind me asking, what advantages does this headset offer over say a cheaper cane creek model, say 50-75 dollars? I understand product quality, but does it really offer alot over the cheaper models. I am not trying to bother anyone. Just wondering, and if so I might put one on 29er build. Maybe a rasta color combo.

Thanks, Corey

I don't think there are going to be any big differences in performance or long term durability. Much of the appeal of CK is that they are gorgeous parts crafted in the USA by people who care about the sport. If you are building that "ultimate bike" why not choose parts that are functional art?

Their customer service kicks ass too! I had a headtube on a steel frame start to ovalize on me. Initial measurements showed that it wasn't too bad so on CK's advice I had it reamed round again and then returned my bottom cup to them. They pressed my bearings in to a custom sized cup and sent it and my old cup back to me next-day-mail....all for $12. :thumb:

Chris King parts truly are works of functional art, and I never hear bad things about them. But in my case, the price just isn't worth the advantage.

Like DirtyDog said, if you are building the ultimate bike, why not choose these works of functional art.
