my 09 giant glory build (pics)

just picked up my frame from giant on friday and built it up this sunday morning. here are some pics.

weighs in at 42.79lbs. and pics were takin in my back yard... yes i know its pretty sweet.

Nice glory, 42 seems high though. I have the Glory 0 built up DH style (wanted the longer top tube vs the DH) with an 888WC and DHX TI, 823's, LG1, and mine is a hair above 40 lbs. You could def lighten it up. Nice bike regardless.

are you weighing it on a miscalibrated bathroom scale or something? I have a glory built up with weight weenie parts and it sits at 41, not alot of room for weight loss save single ply tires and am wheels on mine. 42 sounds about right and is hitting a fairly low weight

42lbs is pretty light for a glory trust me. i weighed my 08 at about 45.5 so 3.5lbs off is a good amount of saveings. i could drop another pound with TI spring and loose more by switchin out the front tire with a mich. 16 or 24.

Yah, the best I got my 07 Glory down to was just under 41lbs Ti and all. Trust me as I built it up with some nice lite Sht too..... I don't see how you have a Glory0 with an 888 down to 40lbs. The Glory stock Med build comes in at 46 lbs. The only thing stock on mine was the Fox Fork and Heas Set. Show us your bike on a real scale.....

yo, if this is the same kid who i met at the giant event in wawayanda then you should have put that bad ass all black truck in the shot too. that thing was sick. and the bike is too but that shouldn't need to be said.

Alright, so it was 40.9 lbs. Weighed it @ Go-ride after building the wheels. I have 340's on 823's, TI springs front and rear. Not gonna go back to take a picture but it was weighed on a hanging scale at the shop. I run a 5 speed ultegra with XO der and shifters. Maybe I'll just go look for a "real scale" :bonk:

Very tough to get Glories to be light. To the OP, don't know if this has already been done, but in '06 when I got mine, the big trick to saving some weight was dropping the heavy stock steel rear axle for an aluminum one from Azonic.

Awesome bike.

Sweet. The first few pictures with the flash made the blue look like a Yeti paint job. At least that's what came to my mind.

yea man, its me. i'm surprised that you got the name right. impressive. Sad i didn't make it out to diablo. There really is no excuse. Probably going to rays over winter school break and during spring semester. Down?

yea man im sure we will hit up rays on our way to california in january.

chuck, thanks man ill be puttin pics up! goin out there to race the fontana series and hopefully be able to stay long enough to race sea otter too.

venom thanks man but the blue and black is much faster.
