i use bartape but its pretty chunky.

Bar tape works well and is light, but it is bulky.
I use plumbers tape (sticky rubber, found in the plumbing asle is 1.5-2" rolls)
Just a single layer and then wrap with eletrical tape. The electrical tape wears through after a couple rides but is cheap and easy to replace.

We buy 4' wide rolls of the stuff. Both adhesive and bare. Ironically, we only use the hooked side.
i got so sick of chain slap that i ride chainless. saves a ton of weight by not need a cassette or shifter or derailler.
Wiiide velcro Lizard Skins. I let it air-dry after being out in the muck.

seriously tho, mad props on your build. its tight.
I got an old T-shirt and cut out a5" wide strip about the length of my chainstay and wrapped it aound it...and then got the white zip tie things and that seems to work quite nicely. and I have also heard of a lot of people using electrical tape. but I dont like the idea of tape on my bike.

Only kind of chainstay protector I use. And it doesn't cost anything.

I wrap two layers of silicone tape. Fuses to itself and will not leave any residue on your frame. Similar to bar tape but sticks and holds way better, the FBI uses it to protect all of their antennas on mobile units. $6/ roll
Just cheap bar tape here, installs simply, works well, its cheap
it doesnt work on all frames, but if you can do it, the heat-shrink wrap tubing electricians use works great and never needs to be replaced. you can get it in all sizes and colors at any electrician supply place
