Hey my friend has a 2003 Tomac 204 magnum. He has no clue what rear hub it needs, he hasnt had an axle for it either. It has a 165 rear end. What hubs are you guys using on these old bikes? Just trying to help him get on the bike sooner than later.

I think it was a hadley hub specially made for the frame.

or
from the ride monkey search function this little tid bit

Hub rebuild/lubrication question (Tomac 204 hub).
So, I finally took apart the Edco hub on my Tomac and cleaned all the internals. I am really concerned about the hub crapping out on me as the pawls stopped engaging once and it would be a pain to get a replacement as the hub is proprietary and the bike isn't made anymore...plus, those things cost money.

I've read on here to use a light grease, as a heavy one will gum it all up. Well, I am not entirely sure what a light grease entails and if I have any or if an oil can be used. Also, I am not sure how much is appropriate to use on the pawls and the bearings in there.

I have standard blue-green Park grease, some of that neon green Shimano grease (seems pretty thin), Pedros Synthetic grease and Finish Line wet and dry lubes. I put a good amount (too much?) Finish Line wet in there and the pawls engage and all but, just spinning, the hub is almost silent...that worries me as it was never the case before.

Suggestions? Pau11y? Parts? Yearof?

Did Razor Rock not make hubs for them too???:twitch:
Isn't Razor Rock bust as well? I think the reason the hub was built for the frame was because no one was producing a 165mm hub at that point....I would find someone with a Hadley 165 and compare your Edco hub against theirs, I suspect the Hadley would work.

Did that frame have a proprietary axle size? I know it used an Edco that was 165 or thereabouts, but I'm not sure if it was a standard axle. In any case, finding one might be a pain... I owned one of those frames and definitely wouldn't buy one without the hub and axle.

Was it not a 20mm throught rear and the edco/razor rock had that.
If your really stuck could you not contact hadley or hope and maybe get them to do you a custom one.
Or get a step down axle made for the bike so you can use a 165/12mm axle???

RR had the 20mm rear for Dirtworks Pirranah's and Yeti DH-9 tube frames. Edco was bought up by RR years ago. The Edco on the Tomac is 12mmx 165mm zero dish, iirc.
It is a huge size and the only wheel at the time that was that big.

Yeah, they went 165mm to make a dishless hub with the 100mm BB shell they spec'd, to get around their newer moto-link style suspension linkage.

Good luck finding a hub! Maybe rock a 150mm with some 7.5mm spacers on the axle to take up the excess?
The frames are tanklike, bombproof, and ride nicely for being so heavy.

Da Bomb use a 165mm hub on their "Projectile" frame, and sell them separately as well.

It's a labeled up Taiwan-job of course (probably from the Formula factory) but they seem to hold up.
