I'm looking for a freeride hardtail frame that will be paired with a 160mm fork. Plenty of good options out there, but here's the catch. I'm 6'7" and 230lbs. So I need to have something bigger than the 17" Vagrant frame.

Suggestions? Somone suggested an XL Norco Rampage frame?

At your height, there's probably only one way to go... custom.

Your a beast man... haha.

We'll I've got a semi-custom 5" Ventana El-Rey. However it doesn't fit on the bus bike rack and I'm a lot more careful about abusing it. This is just to mess around on the local trails. I like getting back on a HT from time to time. So not looking to spend the cash for a custom frame.

Large Banshee Morphine, it´s very rare to see them around, but it´s a very strong frame that will take the abuse easily and has a preety sweet geometry.

This is an old one... but you can see how it looks like:

The large morphine is too small, but the large Transition Vagrant is pretty close to the frame it's replacing. This really is just an abuse after work bike, not planning on going out all day with it. I checked and Norco doesn't have any XL Rampage frames available. After done research it also seems that more tall people by the Vagrant. It also falls in the right price category.

Don't feel like you need some huge frame cause of your height. I'm 6'5" and I Ride a sinister DNA and a large bottle rocket. My best friend is 6'9" and rides a large kona stuff with a 140 mm fork. So your going to be looking at XL frames frames like a Kona five-o or don't count out he Vagrant frame. Think about changing stem bar combos to suit your size. My friend runs a bmx stem with 5" S&M cruiser bars and he loves it.

I'm 6'7" and ride a Giant STP, size large 15" and love it. The only thing you should be concerned with is the top tube length. If you get a tall seat tube it will hit you in the ass when you bunny hop it and drop it. Trust me... I used to ride a 20 Kona Hoss Dee-Lux for freeride and urban stuff because I was tall and that's what I thought would help since everything else just felt small.

Now that I'm used to riding the smaller bike, there's so much more stuff you can do on it.
I couldn't hop the 20" frame more than a foot but I can hop my STP onto 3ft ledges with no problem! Go for the smaller bike man,Take it from another too tall guy!

Nice bike, thanks for the update. I'm in the same debate for future bikes, nice to see what another tall guy is doing.
