I think they are using the same course we ran the weekend before last for the local race. If so, it is really rough - rattle your brains rough. Some tech, some pedaling but not flat. It has a tricky rock section near the top with huge consequences for failure and it has another tricky rock section to log drop mid course. I would not call it flowy but fast - yes.

Overall, I liked it. Not as scary as DV but tough enough to challenge you when you try to ride it fast.

Any reason for practice not starting till Friday and no real extension of practice times for the limited days of practice?
Damn Alf, I thought you would have figured it out by now. Some of you might be in some points/rank obligation but I can't figure how anyone would even consider this event with Sol Vista running a G3 race on the same weekend. For me in my "older" age, the Mountain States Cup organization has managed to bring the laxed enjoyment(read:FUN) back to race weekends and is setting the new standard on how gravity events should be run. You can let this thread fill up with all the ways the old guard has done you wrong or we could start a new topic on how gud sol vista was... To those of you going to Brianhead, once you get there, keep on going. Eventually you'll arrive in the land where the burms are ripped, the lips are whipped (never nibbled), and the Dale's Pale Ale flows freely. Did I mention that it's a G3 stage race? That's 3 DH courses, racing 1 course each day with cumulative live timing, cash money payouts......do it. http://www.racemsc.com/events/solsquared.html

The only reason to go is that I hear this will be the death of the NCS. I can already hear taps being played in the background.

Hah, trust me I would if I could. I have little vacation time left and this race is way close. Have Fun!

There is a crazy rumor one of the stages will be chain less. Chain tools will be busted out at the start gate making sure no one cheats.

Though NORBA and TBB still do hate you, its actually because the race is on Sunday instead of Saturday like every other NORBA.

wow Jimmy you make a pretty good argument for the G3. I will, alas, head to the Head of Brian hanging my head in shame as I suck down a few liquid calories to justify paying yet more money to do less riding to the old terds who slide the credit card. Next year, however, I heard through the grapevine there will be an all women's team who may boycott all TBB events....
