Yeah so apparently the Shova Lt is being replaced completely by the Zuza in the 2009 line up. Its going to have 170mm travel (6.7 inches of rear travel) instead of 180mm (7.1" from 2008) and ~193mm (7.6" from 2007). It seems that it will be more of a burly do-it-all bike than the mbuzi (more all mountain) with geometry i would expect to be close to the sx trail (just since its 170mm)

:spam::spam::spam:btw i'm selling my 2007 shova Lt on here:spam::spam::spam:

very very sexy, i was in the factory when patrick was putting the frames together for eurobike(interbike?) and i was blown away with the bike in person. he was sealing already sealed bearings:brow: so that the lot that love their pressure washers cant blow them bearings apart, i wonder if he got it right?

It's not that bad. Boxxers will be heavier with new stanctions, marz 08 is much more. 3,65 is around the travis weight.
Not really, RS had to make their forks with straight-wall stanchions to make up for the stiffness deficit compared to other forks with bigger stanchions. That means that going to 35mm stanchions should result in a similer or even slightly lighter weight compared to the 32mm version.

In any case, it's fun to see Morewood start making a bike (linkage actuated) like other companies have been doing for years. I guess maybe they are just not innovaters, and that's ok, but there are more limits to what you can achieve with single pivot designs (no linkages) and it seems like most companies figured that out a while ago...heck even cannondale now.

“Hi Deon

Thanks for your great ranking and your support of the Morewood bikes!

The Makulu will have its official launch next week at the Eurobike show in Germany [actually sitting in the airport at the moment waiting to board the plane...] Initially we will only be making a limited number of 40 units available, these units will be sold packaged up with the Bos Idylle Pro fork and S**Toy shock. Estimated cost of this package is R45000.00. [US$6000.00] We will be planning a regular release which will be sold as a frame and shock option, these should be available around March 2009 and will sell with the Bos S**Toy shock for around R28000.00 [US$4000.00]

We will not be replacing the Izimu with the Makulu, the Makulu is intended as our premium "race" frame hence the pricy package.
I would LOVE one of these, but I don't think I can justify the price 
I also asked if I can buy the frame ONLY, excluding the BOS rear shock, but apparently the stroke length is different and the DHX5 will not fit. He did say maybe much later in 2009 there might be another shock option… the name of which escapes me now

Cane Creek, Avalanche and I think Manitou make a shock that would fit and be more "local" for people in the states and Canada. I saw something on Pinkbike about a proto RS Vivid that was 10.5x3.5 so that would be another option in a year or so. I'm sure it won't be long before Fox and Marzocchi make a shock that size too.

It's no biggie...I was just messin' with ya. It's all good in da hood! :cheers:

It's a sweet bike! G loves it!
Tell G to buck up and buy an integrated stem. His bars are .0018 micrometers off alignment in that pic. Oh..and I wouldn't go announcing the location of any one off DH bikes. Nigel Page's pilferer is still at large! :think:

I hope the US distributor is closer to the right us price ;) 3200$ is hard but affordable but 4k for frame ? That's a frame + some nice upgrades if I went other way...

Will it's actually 9 DH bikes....as I have both of the Rooney's DH's bikes...plus I bought the quad last week and you know about the two minis....so what is hmmmmm?
Don't worry... The 4 hour plane ride or the 2000 miles might keep me from paying your garage a visit. Maybe I'll take you up on that offer next summer... :)
