I really hope the moderator at the debate is an asshole.

"Governor, can you please actually answer the question instead of dancing around it like a pussy? Be Specific; point form if necessary."

You got me. I hate babies. In fact, I hate all children. Kind of ironic that it is the complete opposite of republicans, who hate everyone else but apparently love babies. Even those of unwed, underage mothers that despite preaching "family values", is ok because "life happens".

The speech she gave accomplished exactly what it needed to. She was presented as a tough little "pit bull" (her words) that can be bitchy to get things done if needed. It rallied the sheeple at the convention, just like the fake Styrofoam columns (her words) did at the DNC. She got to introduce us to the typical Alaskan family, where the kids call their Dad's wife Aunt Mom.

(cue to cute little daughter licking the Symptom of a Downs baby)

This was meant to rally the women and present her a women candidate but anti-Hillary, from the liberal vs. conservative issues.

It was well delivered with just enough sarcasm and poking at the Republican's favorite target (left wing media) and it showcased their definition of executive experience.

But really, what America really needs to know....

who the fvck named those kids?

Track?

In most any career choice, if you are not a master/pro after 4 years of full time employment, you are a hopeless 'tard.

You are a fool to think it requires 10-25+ years of Washington politics to have "experience". I think her accomplishments in her short career trumps those of most lifers.

I seriously doubt she ever had "White House" motives for all the ass kicking shes done during her time as PTA, Mayor and Gov. She is only here today because of her accomplishments. Yes, she is a woman, attractive, with a good/average family made up of teen moms, 'tards and soldiers. But none of that would matter if she were not this gifted, political ass kicker. I think it makes her the perfect combination. Exactly what the FEderal govt. needs.

My impression is that Palin can hold her own against Obama and Biden without a problem. Obama is a total Joke. He is selling you. He is hustlin' you. You are the clueless honkey on the street corner gettin takin by slight-of-hand and fancy words by the sterotypical african-american man who aint got a job. He is exactly the type of all-bark-no-bite clown that Palin will walk straight over.

I like Biden. Whether i agreed or not, i recall his comments on subjects over the years to be good, logical, non partisan answers - as if i was listening to a normal person. I was alittle worried when Obama announced him as veep. I thought that was gonna be tough. Not until i've learned about Palin.

In the end, in my opinion, ain't no way Obama will win this election.

The amount of hateful stereotyping contained in your post gives me very little hope that our country will ever be a place where there can ever be any middle ground. Did you self edit and not use the term monkey to describe him? Sad.

dude, when you grow up with and get married by rev wright as your life long mentor like Obama did ... it leaves no question in my mind the guy is NOT as he appears on the outside.

And when your campaign slogan is "CHANGE" and yet you have not made CHANGE or rattled the establishment in your home town of Chicago, WTF are you going to do in Washington?

The guy has played it cool, talked ALOT, slid by, made friends with everyone and not been a single blip on the CHANGE radar in his political career.

The guy is a chump and all talk.

FYI - concerning my comments about stereotypical aint gotta job types, i feel there is no difference between the yellow-eyed homeless blacks i say hell no to twice a day when buming for money here downtown and the blacks like rev wright, al sharpton or the ones on my city council who use hate and racial quote-unquote "injustice" as fuel to further themselves. they are absolutely the 180* opposite of my black friends who are just good, normal people that i enjoy. also note that my distaste for the blacks listed above are slightly behind the white, 50 something A-type religious pastors with cult tendancies. (long story)

OK. I see. He associates with people you don't agree with so it's OK to deride him with the same sort of rhetoric that those people use. Yeah! An eye for and eye for makes the whole world blind.

I respect your right to not like the guy, what he stands for and those he has associated with in his life. I can't respect your method of voicing those opinions. Hatefull and extrememly counterproductive. Oh wait...are you running for office this year too?

Politics suck. Anyone who thinks that any of these candidates have our best interests at heart are fooling themselves. Special interests rule this country no matter who is in charge. I'll go back to burying my head in the sand now.

Personal opinion of her speech - Politics as usual. For every one thing she mentioned as wanting to do (change, drill drill drill), she attacked Obama on everything from taxes, to his experience. She stretched the truth whenever she could, or blatantly lied (bridge to nowhere, etc) when she thought she could get away with it. It was 100% "look at me, I can relate to you, aren't I such a charismatic and great person", and 0% "these are the issues I stand for, this is why I'm qualified, and, oh yeah, I'm knowledgeable about foreign and domestic policy and can step in to be president if called upon".

However.

This is also what really scares me. Ever since Clinton swept onto the scene in '92, that has been who we've elected for president. Gone has been the "I'm voting for this guy because of what he(/she) stands for or believes in", it's the "he GETS me, he's one of us!" type of mentality. Somehow Bush convinced us that he understood our problems by clearing brush on his ranch, or that Kerry wasn't one of us since he snowboarded and windsurfed.

uh, Blatant Lie? You Could Actually See The Teleprompter During Some Of Her Crowd Shots, And It Was Lined Up Perfectly... :ban:
article said:
According To Sources Close To The Mccain Campaign, The Teleprompter Continued Scrolling During Applause Breaks. As A Result, Half Way Through The Speech, The Speech Had Scrolled Significantly From Where Governor Palin Was In The Speech. The Malfunction Also Occurred During Rudy Giuliani's Speech, Explaining His Significant Deviations From His Speech.

Unfazed, Governor Palin Continued, From Memory, To Deliver Her Speech Without The Teleprompter Cued To The Appropriate Point In Her Speech.

:bonk: I said it was "lined up perfectly". As in, you could see the teleprompter, including the words that she was saying, or about to say. As in, NOT BROKEN. Someone at the RNC is a little annoyed that they revealed that they'd written her speech before she was even chosen, so now they have to make it look like she's smarter than just reading it.

For a reformer, she did an awful good job of sticking perfectly to the Rovian party lines and taking the absolute lowest of roads. Yeah, quite the outsider...

"If I say they're raising taxes on working families, and we're lowering taxes on working families, they'll believe me even though the opposite is true, because I have a family and so they relate to me."

The RNC eats it up, but not a chance it'll hold up to a public that isn't 98% white and rich. I haven't seen that many pearl necklaces since the last Folsom St Fair.

The closest thing this pick does to scaring me, is worry that she's an easy target of a pawn the Dems will spend so much time picking apart, they'll miss McCain's queen moving into the whitehouse.

Not anticipating that McCain would choose a woman as his running mate, the speech that was prepared in advance was "very masculine," according to campaign manager Rick Davis, and "we had to start from scratch."
