it did when I first put in. It would bind before I could get in to high gear. This is where the file work came in. Had to take some metal out of the parallelogram where it was hitting. Once it was leveled down a bit everything worked great.

I'm still a bit surprised that the X0 did not need any work, maybe sram is accommodating this kind of mod's for us now?

If you want I can grab a quick shot my my filed x9 for reference.
yes, please show me a pic if you can.
Thanks.

40 lbs is still just a dream for me. It's sitting mid 43's and I don't know of many more places to cut weight without spending lots to get little. The frame itself is the big anchor weighing everything down. I've never had much luck with lighter rims.

Parts as follows
2005 Norco Team DH frame with custom shock shuttle (13.75"bb & 64.5 degree ha)
Fox DHX 5.0 with RCS Ti spring
2007 Marzocchi 888 RC2X WC fork with 2005 Marz tall crowns
Hadley/Mavic 729 rear
Formula/Mavic 729 front
Avid Juicy 5 8/6 rotors, Straitline levers
Thomson Elite 50mm stem
Chromag flat bar
Sram x9 shifter/X.0 rear derailleur
E.13 SRS with Gamut bash/Blackspire 38 chainring
Hone Cranks
Shimano 12-28 cassette.
SDG I-fly I Beam seat/post
Wellgo MG-1 pedals
Maxxis Minion DHF c/w Stans strips & sealant

I figured the best way to dump some weight was with the biggest part...the frame.

She now sits at a nice 40.45lbs.

Such an addictive hobby....

The Orange went down to high 38.53 with a new wheelset (Hope Pro II/Syncros DS-28's), Gamut guide, new cassette, etc.

The Syncros rims didn't work out for me. Changing to EX823's and tubeless tires actually saved weight over the lighweight rims and strips while gaining significant strength

and now with the purchase of a used Boxxer Team and converting it to air she's sitting at 36.88. Pretty respectable with sturdy rims and DH tires. I believe I'm done. I haven't ridden the Boxxer yet but everyone says it will be an improvement over the 888. That's a tough sell, I've been riding Marz from day 1, but even if it's performance is equal, it's tough to overlook the 1.4lb weight difference.

I am sure most of you have seen my bike before but just thought I would throw a picture in here, to add to the thread, as it is it weighs 40.2lbs I don't have a picture of it attached to a scale so I guess you are going to have to take my word for it...

build is as follows....

08 Works finish DHR (large)
Thomson elite seatpost
WTB silverado saddle,
Hope seatclamp,
Hope headset,
Hope ceramic bearing bottom bracket,
Polished Saint cranks,

DHX 5.0 with steel spring (soon as I can afford it will get a Ti spring)
Rockshox Boxxer race built up to be Boxxer teams.
Sunline direct mount stem,
Sunline V1 bars 19mm rise, 711mm width,
ODI grips,
Mavic EX 823 rims, DT swiss spokes, Syncros hubs.
Maxxis 2.5 High Roller UST,
SRAM PC 991 hollow pin chain,
SRAM X0 shifter,

I guess not much is left of the original bike, other than the frame and shock.

Its a large, and weighs 40.2 pounds (18.27 kg). In case you're wondering, I stripped the paint with some paint stripper, but if I ever did it again I'd pay someone the 50 bucks or so to have it walnut blasted.

Spec:
Frame: Large 05 Stab Supreme
Shock: DHX 5.0 with Obtainium Ti Spring - 450 lb
Fork: Boxxer World Cup
Headset: FSA Pig DH
Stem: Sunline
Handlebars: Sunline V-one
Grips: ODI
Shifter/derailleur: X9 shorty
Brakes: Juicy 7s with 203mm rotors, customized floating brake, with custom mount to seatpost because this version of the bike doesn't have an attachment on the frame in the neutral position.
Wheels: 823s on Ringle front and Hadley rear
Tires: now Michelin 16s
Tubes: yeah right
Seatpost: Thompson
Seat: WTB Ti
Cranks: FSA Gravity Light
Pedals: wellgo mg1
Cassette: shimano ultegra 12-27
Chain guide: customized SRS - I made it into an LG1 by drilling the backplate and attaching a customized taco (from a 44 tooth bash)

Geo: BB 14 inches. Wheelbase 47.5. Chainstay 17.9 (haha...long!). Headangle 65.5 degrees.... all in all, not too bad for an old bike.

My Faith with some upgrades: Formula "ones" and a dura-ace cassette. I have a XTR for freeride so it didn't save much weight. 40.5 pounds with heavy DH tubes. The noisy CK headset is comming out abd a 60G crank brothers DH headset is going in.

Give us a review once you get it. I've wanted to see one of those in person to verify the weight. Can't say I believe it since most integrated headset weigh that and they are just bearings, a crown race, and an upper race.

Those Faith's handle reallllly good with slammed geometry. I thought thats approximately what the new DHR was going to look like since their shock placement/rotation is very similar and they feel similar in progression to the old DHR's with a nice shock on them.

I've had it in my hands and there's not much to it. The crown race is tiny, and the cup is the outer part of the bearing. I'm confident in the weight claim, I just hope it holds up to what I will put it through. Its really slim to, which will give me the option to lower my front end considerably. Kings are very high.

the good news...
my bike is right around 39 lbs

specs... all u need to know is that the new Saints rock and keep an eye for the new Fulcrum DH/FR wheelset. Better engagement than the Deemax and already in production.

Now the bad news... i gained 5 lbs which offsets my bike weight. LOL!

Humm all those shiny new things, let me show a blast from the past:

*

(as it apears this is the only photo in my final setup)

It's a RAM DH '05 a.k.a. Azonic Eliminator II @ 39lbs

On it i have the Boxxer Race 07 (with Team MoCo)
Mach1 Freeride rims on Formula hubs (those rims won't last a season on the rocks so i've gone to WTB Speeddisk Pro DH on my new build)
Nevegal 2.35 DH rear + 2.5 FR front (going for the Rollers on the 09 build)
24' rear Nokian DH tube and a Conty MTB 26 Light front tube
Hone chainset with the SRS to sort it out
Saint mid cage on the rear ( i dislike swiching a hanger in mid-ride)
SRAM 8sp road casette (12-14-16-18-20-22-24-26) for a great shift and the Attack shifter
a Sram 8sp chain (running 8sp for durability - i can't bother with the drivetrain)
Formula K24s 8" f / 7" r (i've had the J5 and the first Codes but they both came up with respiratory problems)
A Metel R rear shock - couldn't bother changing the stock shock
Ali stem with the Zoo! Trials bar... and that's about it

Where the weight go - wheels and rubber - those are light and cheap, but you need to change the rims with the tires :)

*And no, i didn't fall after the photo - i was just going slow-enough to turn that way :)

Beautiful. And damn light for chromo w/ floater. I see an ultimate out back, interesting. Nice build.
Yeah the ultimates only on a 7" rotor also, I'm only 67kg. I like the code on the front, rocking old style Juicy levers, with a carbon lever on the left just to make it a total brake barstard, non Avid rotors also.

It's the first non ugly m6. Actualy the first I like. CG for the nice build.

Can you tell more about the wheels? Are they light? What's the price?
