I have a question...

Would you rather free fall off a 15" drop, or get boosted 7.5 feet over a big double? This question kind of comes from the comment i made in Thrillseeka's frame design thread. I personally find the thrill of literally taking off and flying through the air to be much more fun than just falling.

15 inches isn't much of a freefall.

Haha. I know what you meant. Jump 15 feet high off of a rad double. And then click a flat table. And then free fall 15 feet onto the landing.

Boosting is twice as much fun... cuz you get the up, then the down, and the weightlessness at the peak.

Here's another question. Would you rather go up or out on a big set of doubles? I like going up... almost straight up. We have jumps that could easily send you 20+ feet in distance if you built the lips for that. But, we keep the gaps at 10 to 15 feet and build the transitions to almost vert so you go up, instead of out. It's definitely not the best style of jump for doing tricks... but, they are sooo much fun.

Example. 6' tall lip, 7' tall landing, maybe a 12 foot gap, but TONS of boost...

Big drops scare you the first couple times, and then its like "ok what now?"

Dj's can be hit racer style, boosted, tricked and transfered. You can hit the same set with so many different styles that its almost impossible to get bored.

I would love to be able to boost like the above pic, but honestly when the lip is so big and with that much vert they start looking like Tombstones to me and my vag starts to hurt.

So for me I like.. Rail berm, manual pump roller, hit berm with a 3 to 4' lip coming out, tranfer to big safety net landing rolling into a berm going the other way, stepup to step down, to roller, to berm . . . you get the idea.

15 foot drop, I think it would not be to bad, I've done drops about that big (on a dh)... 7.5 feet, depends on the jump...

so it seems like everyone would rather boost a double. can someone please explain slopestyle to me then? i know its something different, but in this case different just seems more awkward and not necessarily better or more fun.
