Hello to all
I just spent a week riding a killer hill that is only about 1.5 hrs from us and trust me I drove there with my suv and only used 1/4 tank of gas and it was well worth it. Galbraith mountain in bellingham is great. They have every thing there from some easy freeride stuff to some great log rides. I suggest you take a all mountain rig or something you can pedal though as you can not shuttle up the hill. OH and don't take a hard tail trust me I did it all on my DJ and it hurt like heck in some sections. If you want sweet just fun flowy ride hit up the karma trail at the bottom of the hill. Ride hard and have fun.

For future reference Keener, probably all the "usual" posters here have been riding Galby for several years so this is nothing new to this forum. But, your enthusiasum for the place rocks. :monkeydance: While it may not be the "end all" for Western WA riding like some people think, it's definately a contender for those who like enhanced trails.

Its not that bad on a hard tail, but your right a all mountain rig would be best. Full on DH rig is not the best, but is really fun for some sections.

What trails did you ride?

I hit up crazy 8's, cheech and chongs wild ride, 911 safety break, meth lab, lost giants, mullet, bandito, stinger, evolution, pump track, the sh*t, sst, ridge trial, upper bobs, lower bobs and karma (lots of karma, spent a good hour just flowing through karma and the DJ.) I had to leave early some stuff going on at home but I am going back up there as soon as I can to ride more of the trails. Live to ride and love every minute of it.

I have to agree, Galbraith is my favorite places in the state to ride. I'm sure I haven't ridden everything around here the FR orientated, but still, it's hard to beat SST on a good day when the dirt is tacky!

And I'm pretty sure that Galby isn't secret, it has it's own parking lot! Not to mention published maps with the blessing of the company that owns the land...

I treat the small jumps on Karma as high speed rollers and stay as low as I can over them.

Over this fall/winter you'll see some good changes coming on all the popular trails such as Karma, Bob's, El Pollo, etc. I'm going to be doing a bunch of work with rocks and dirt to get rid of as many of the big puddles and mud holes as possible so that it will be better to ride even in the rain. :D
