I think it has to do with where you live. CBS has a late football game on for me so mountain biking is on early. I live in Northern NJ.

My dvdr comcast shows mountain biking at 5 to 6pm in the title and gives a brief description of the jeep event at diablo.

I thought the coverage was choppy and fast paced, then again comparing an all day event into an hour session, so I can't complain. Course/jumps definately didn't look as big as riding them...that's for sure. Glad I attended the event in person, but cool to see Mountain Creek on the television for a change.

Good advertisement for Diablo though.

The coverage was excellent. Excellent for Diablo and excellent for the sport. For mountain bike TV coverage in the USA, 48Straight is second to none right now and should be applauded for supporting our sport on a large scale.

The Jeep events have always been more of a "made for TV" type contest and spectator turnouts are secondary to TV coverage. We are stoked and this is a huge win for all involved!

OUR sport, please remind me where the DS course is that our community gets to ride during the season. How about that much effort poured into OUR trails, that would help out OUR cause.

Oh, nevermind, I just realized it was an opportunity to toot OUR horn, carry on.

Small minded folks might focus on the "what's in it for me" aspect of it. Those with a bigger picture view of the sport recognize how good it is to get decent coverage of the sport (and a great venue) on national network television for an entire hour.

Good job Diablo. Fantastic coverage.

TV is amazing. I was more excited watching the event on TV than actually being there in person. Kind of strange how all the close up choppy shots make the event look like the most exciting event ever. I guess it's good for the sport but when I have friends that don't ride show up to these events they are severely disappointed and bored.

The events should have Monster trucks for the kids with Dora the Explorer, Spongebob - Jet cars and mayhem! That's what non biking people want. It's gotta to be on the scale of a Nascar event or drag race at Englishtown. Playboy models for the Dads as well.

JD Swangen was amazing to watch though. So fast, so aggressive, so smooth. I really think he was riding a step above everybody there even though he crashed.
