I just built up this Preston last week in anticipation of my move out of South Florida to North Carolina. My XC bike is super flimsy and the SS DJ wasn't going to cut it in the mountains...or even pedaling up my driveway. :)

nice preston. good choice for NC riding. i love my preston and i ride alot in pisgah and surrounding ares. prefect for the decents while still able to climb the fire roads.

Quick question for the TOP owners. I have the 2008 version with the dropouts being angled out at the very back just to make getting the wheel in easier. I'm trying to find some chain tugs to fit, but cant because of the angle. Anybody have any advice? Otherwise Ill get a Horizontal tensioner from Yess Pro.

Why can't you use something like the Surly chain tug? or any chain tug from a bmx shop?

That was taken pretty much after i had just bought it.
Now i have Syncro Bulk 7k bar,
And i have ds28 black waiting to be laced.MG

How do you guys have your bottlerockets set-up?

I used to have minimal compression, and 25-35% sag in the front, but now i run it

50% compression front,
19% sag(pretty stiff)
22-24% sag rear, 5 click comrpession on roco wc

pretty fast rebound in the front,
2 clicks slower in the rear.

I rode it yesterday with the new set-up, i find it corners much better, and the rear tracks much better w/ the geometry kept stable with stiffer front than rear.
also really like the fact it doesn't dive anymore.
