Any1 had contact with the frame? I want any info. Even speculative tech talk. The geo seems pretty nice on it but I want to know more.
Also can any1 calculate the bb height of it from the rise they give on the page?

BB should be around 14.1".

i had brought them up in a thread on here just a couple days ago. I haven't had a chance to ride the Furax yet but this summer i did spend some time on the Gamjam and raah. Both bikes were great and if i was in a financial position to by another bike i think i would get the gamjam just based on the crazy amount of fun i had on the bike. The frames are made with a very high standard, a prime example of french Canadian craftsmanship. The owner/welder is an old balfa guy i believe, the xprezo frames show many similar traits as those to the old balfa frames.

So insane rearward travel? I feel stupid but I have hard time thinking about the axle path on this one.

it looks like an overly complicated single pivot. I wouldn't be mad on the alloy part conecting the swingarm to the pivot. Lots of hardware to come loose and to add weight why not just make an all alloy swingarm. Looks wise its sweet very similar to a chumba. The Gamjam is on the money though would love to have a test ride it looks like a whole lot of fun.

Looks a pretty standard single pivot location. Not that high.
Pitty he didn't go the high pivot / roller setup of the balfa, still looks a clean frame though. If it's anything like other similar bikes (Tomac Primer was the last I predaled) you won't be getting great acceleration with that bike though.
speculation :)

the rear suspension as far as i know of works exactly the same as the old bb7 just with a lower pivot, like stated above it is basically an overcomplicated single pivot. Im sure this was on purpose the frame may be meant to appeal to people that just want stuff that works plain and simple no gimmicks or complicated maintenance, just get on and go.

why change something if it works? i remember 5 years back when there were cult followings around the balfa bb7. similar to how people on here feel about the dw link. It is a really simple design but like i said earlier, that will appeal to some people, whats there to break on the bike besides the tubing? also people who live in places like whistler will tell you about the benefits of a steel swing arm

I'll make it easier using Linkage diagram:

So after getting into SAG, you have only about 30 mm of pseudo-rearward travel left. "Pseudo", because maximum rearward movement is just 10 mm - nothing more than on most single-pivot bikes.

For comparison, Balfa BB7 (true high pivot - Appalache Real would be very similar):

Permanent rearward movement, up to 57 mm (compared to 10 mm in Furax).

So for me, this bike is very... normal compared to Balfa and Appalache.

EDIT: Oh, and the video:

Your process of picking out a damn Dh frame takes longer than the US Presidential campaign.

Norbar 2012!:busted:
Dolar went up vs polish zloty by like a zillion % (or if you prefer numbers from 2.1zl per 1$ to 3.4zl per 1$ ) so I'm freaking out now and that's what makes me go nuts. For now the only affordable options are commencal supreme dh (with all the extras you get in yurp) or banshee legend (but in May/June). I'm checking the currencies 2 times a day and I learned more about them than I learned about bikes threw all that time ;) I wish I had it all behind me but I have still like 2 weeks to decide so let's hope I won't have to bite threw leather straps to ride my bike by that time ;)

Just buy a used Sunday - whats the big deal.
I'd rather go any of the frames I look at than a sunday. I know it's a great bike but now that the fastest eyebrows on the planet don't ride it sunday seems kinda passe ;)

If it weighted 0.5kg less for the frame I'd be on it right now but knowing myself I'd end up on it anyway though my build will end up then in the 19kg area.

Are you riding for a shop or something that can only get certain bikes in because I thought the Legend was far from affordable. :imstupid:

I'm just good at finding deals. Freeborn.co.uk has them at preorder at a great price(as well as devinci wilson available right now) The only real deals threw my connections I could get don't interest me gearwise.
