How is the quality of Santa Cruz's powder coat?

How is the powder coat these days on Santa Cruz's bikes? I was really disappointed on the quality of my 2005 Nomad, finally going to have to break down this winter I think and get it anodized.

I have a line on a lime medium PC Blur LT2, or I can get a doo doo brown ano bike. I am rough on bikes, I pack a lot of them in the back of the truck hanging over the tail gate, so they bump pedals to frames, and get worn on the down tube.

Rob from Santa Cruz was raised by Saudi Arabian Sheiks, I would avoid their bikes. They use lead and asbestos in their powder coat.

It's as good or better than most. On par with Turners, which are done at Olympic PC, which powder coats alot of companies frames. If you are always shuttling & stacking bikes, they are going to get scratched, no matter how good the PC is.

The PC is good, the ano is definitely tougher. Either will get scratched by a pedal but the ano should be better at resisting tailgate scuffs.

But, are you sure a medium is big enough? I'm 6' 1" and find the large to be just right, but if anything on the small side. The new bikes have tons of standover room.

i can't think of any bike PC that can stand up to pedal grinding frame on a rough shuttle. that being said, i've always considered santa cruz's paint to be pretty durable. it's very chip resistant, unlike other bikes i've owned (choughIronHorsecough), but it shows wear on the creases as if the paint was thin.
i could care less about scratches on the paint...my silver V10 has a very nice and satisfactory patina to it.

I was done for good until the LT2. I'm a whore, and I am disgusted with myself as such.

For some reason odd points on the PC on my Nomad are getting guffed up. Not sure why.
