Timberline Resort in Canaan Valley WV has taken the first steps to open DH trails on it's terrain for this season. Timberline/Davis WV has a long history of first class events. The organizers of (The 24 Hours of Canaan, Revenge of the Rattlesnake, WVMBA State Championship and more) events in and around Timberline produce some of the best courses you can find. The reason that Davis MTB events are so popular, is the TERRAIN!

The terrain at Timberline is World Class. It's HUGE! Natural 40 ft. vertical wall rides, drops, steep roll ins, unbelievable tight bermed log cut roads, steep double/single track, natural trials and glade type tree runs!

I will post more on opening dates and upcomming events very soon. Let's hear what you folks think.

Thanks, JR Nolan

Come on up to Timberline on May 31 and June 1st. 10 and 2 o'clock guided tours each followed by open sessions. No charge but a $15 donation to the trail crew food fund would be nice.

I will post wall rides and drops soon, I don't have ones to post yet.

The berms are so good on the log roads because they are fast ATV race climbs, just the right combo.

how far would you say it is from winchester VA? that place looks nice!
You are not far, 2+ hours on Rt. 50 or 55 Corridor H. I am not sure which is the faster way.

Timberline is nice, the mountain has good fall line terrain and the Moto log roads are something else.

I still need to post pics of the bench cut wall rides on Dew Drop and Twister.

I co-owned Blackwater Bikes with Roger Lilly a few years and know the potential of the Timberline/Canaan area first hand. The Canaan valley has everything. XC, DH, Trials, Road, MX, Boating, Climbing, Hiking, Camping, Fishing, Food and Lodging, Golf, Swimming, Scenic lift rides and shopping. Most of these activities are WORLD CLASS!

Stay cheep and use the entire valley.

Camping right at the spot, within a mile at most. State camping also within five miles.

I was up in Timberline in August and though it rained and I only got a few runs, what I did see was AMAZING. There is a full 1000 ft. decent, and the terrain is constantly changing. Incerdible variety in technical trails and fall lines. Towards the middle of a few of the trials you have to petal a little becasue it flattens out, but never stops being really tight and technical. Definitly check it out!:clapping:

E-mail the mountain, I think they have the ability to open whenever, as long as they think people will come. Nothing else in the area opens until memorial day.
