looks like i'm out for the winter stuff, including the DS/DH in brevard. doc says 8 weeks 'til the cast comes off :(

i'll probably bring noah out for the december race though.

and definitely bring the hardtail for this course money; the fastest dude in sport (who's time would have nearly won expert) did it on a superlight xc race bike and he could probably be just as fast on his cross bike. with the reroute around the rougher stuff in the DH course, the superD is definitely in favor of the xc crowd.
any chance at shortening the superD course by taking it through the big rock garden to even out the dh/xc ratio matt? :D :D ;)

how about a snake pit gap jump....or maybe a pit filled with pungee stakes. or..better yet, make it a lycra free race :brows: :D

oh yeah, noah says he still wants to race even though i won't be. i'm seriously considering trying to talk him into riding his bmx mini but i don't know how he'd handle some of the jumps on it. but it would be fun to watch his skinny tires railing those berms ;)

Hey Matt,
I gotta sit this one out due to this new dirt jump trick I learned.
Its called a crooked air to high side to shoulder crush.
I hate missing it man.
Thanks for putting these on, I hope to see you guys at the next one.

if you made the course longer it would attract more people.

more people=more fun. i would like to see some more rocks. i have tried to talk quite a few people into coming out to the race with me, and everyone says it too short to be a "real" super d. i disagree, i really feel like it favors the downhill crowd more, its short as **** with enough corners and jumps that you have to hit perfect to have a good run.

...yet the race results prove that the xc crowd smokes the DH crowd on this course.

Results should be posted on www.bmcc.us within a few days. I want to thank everyone for coming out and supporting BMCC. A special thanks to all our volunteers and to Robert for coming up and taking pics.

As far as changing the course, we just don't have enough elevation to length it without adding in a lot of uphills. We've tried to even it up as much as possible for both the gravity and xc guys though about 80% of the course is all out pedalling. At the last King of the Lake race the fastest gravity racers time was 3:0495 and the fastest xc racers time was a 3:0616...only 1.21 seconds difference which I think is pretty close and I hope a result of the course layout. Later on (1-2 years) we may have an opportunity to build another super d course at Warrior Creek which does have more elevation.

All that said we really do appreciate all the feedback so please keep it coming.:lighten:

Hope you can join at race #2 which is scheduled for November 22nd.

G-spot, sorry to hear about the deer...hopefully you were able to garnish some jerky out of it anyway:imstupid::biggrin::disgust1:

such a fun race. i think the course layout was fine. kinda worked on us big bike guys but who cares really. i mean if you enter a downhill bike into a super-d race...you are an idiot. that said. ill be back next weekend rockin them jorts
