Hey everybody, glad to hear there is some interest in the upcoming race. For those of you coming out for slalom we have a little perk to spice things up. Eastern Bikes has donated a sick dirt jump frame. I have been trying to figure out how this prize was going to be given away....Well here it is. Prior to race qualifying anyone present (including spectators, family, friends, racers, whoever) can place a ballot picking the top 4 finishers in the Pro/expert category. All ballots must be in before qualies because tie breakers will be determined by what you think those 4 riders qualifying times will be. All you slalom racers better be here, I want to see a full 32 bracket for the first round, if we have enough we will run it. Oh and all you strictly DH and XC people get on out and win yourselve a frame. You don't have to know the people you are betting on, you just have to tell who is fast and how fast they are! Looking forward to seeing everyone. Oh and thank Mr. Joe Haley from Eastern for getting us the great frame to give to you guys.

i'll be there pushing the man-child's bike around with my pretty pink cast. i'll also be able to volunteer if needed and, if the weather looks nice and the wife comes with my girls, she'll be able to help out as well.

Count me in. Is this a 8" or 6" bike track?
I think either one will be fast on it. Its not too rough but pretty steep in spots and no rocks. I'll be on my dh bike...

Wes just gave me the update that Sycamore Cycles has sponsored pint glasses for the event. They will be for the first 70 entries. On the same note Biowheels of Asheville confirmed today 2 kegs of French Broad Brewing Company's Finest. Should be a fun Saturday!!!!
What are peoples accommodations looking like for Saturday night? I might be looking for some floor space, or else braving the cold and throwing up my tent somewhere.

I'll know all about the cold camping this weekend. I'm doing a weekend backpacking trip at Tablerock this weekend with a class. It's been snowing here all day and more snow is forecasted. I'm gonna freeze!

weather.com says 40% chance of rain on sat and 30% on sunday with highs in the mid 50's...so not too cold but i can only imagine how fun that DS track will be in the wet

Anybody wanna split a camping cabin w/ me and the boy. website says it sleeps 4 so that leaves room for two more. $75 for the night so split 3 ways would be $25...only $8 more than a tent site and comes with a shower.
