I'm confused by this thread. There was already a thread about this and you even included the link to it. It's cool that they're trying... but the geo is all wrong.

And why do you say "short stays-not cruiser"? It has long stays and is a cruiser.

I agree the geo looks retarded for 24". Of a matter a fact all 24" bikes that come from bmx companies look retarded in my eyes. Why did they even waste their time and money making that.

Am I missing something? What's wrong with tonic and all the other 24" street/park/dirt bikes? Those sunday cruisers are hideous. I was thinking, "I don't know... I think I need to see someone shred on one before I'll like them." and then I saw that picture of baldy there, and... nevermind. They're ugly.

Well, a lot of people have been asking for a modern, updated geo cruiser (shorter stays, higher bb). Tonics, USBs, and such are sick bikes if you want suspension. But, if not, there are really no options for a quality cruiser frame. There would be some benefits of going bmx 24 as opposed to mtb 24... lower cost frame, cheaper build, and taller bars for turndown clearance.

I agree with you, though. I'm also not a big fan of the way the Sunday's look.

FEAR ME ^
I think your missing the point. Everyone is complaining that they don't look like cruisers and the bb is to high, they have tall bars, etc...

Thats not the point though, its supposed to be a bmx with big wheels. Maybe it's terrible but I sure as hell trust jim c's judgment more than people bitching on the internet who have never ridden it. I say way to go sunday, that looks sweet.

I would ride the sh!t out of one... Silly geo arguements or not, I'd rather have that in a park than a 26er. Nothing looks more awkward in a park than the huge wheels of a 26. A 20 looks like you stole a bike from a middle school on the way. 24 bmx is next after I get rid of the 20 (maybe even one of these if I can ever find one locally) If not, the new We The People it is. It might be harder to get used to the geo than b!itch about what you can't have yet, but I will take my chances...

What would be good geometry for a bike like this?

Just curious....

Witch is the main reason this bike is important.
A lot of plp do not want to spend like +2000 bucks building a 24" specifict jump bike "aka tonic-USB" to slam, do grinds and trash it on the streets.

I don't like the look of the sunday either, but if i can get a complete for arround the price of a tonic frame, I guess i would just get a Flat Black spray paint as i get out of the bike shop and solve the fashion problem...hehe

You're preaching to the choir. But, it's not the colors of the Sundays that I don't like. To me, they're ignoring a whole segment of people who actually know quite a bit about bigger wheels... the mtbmxers. It's hard to argue that bmx style riding on mountain bikes has reached the level that it has on bikes that have bottom brackets that are over 2 inches too low, according to Jim C's logic.

But, like I said, it's cool that they're trying. If we do get our project going, it will be nice to have some quality options for Sunday forks and Hazard Light rims.
