Listening to death metal while riding would probably cause me to intentionally run head first in to a tree and not care.

That being said, I'm usually so pumped anyway I need music to bring me back down a bit. My playlists usually include:
Dream Theater, Sonata Arctica, Symphony X, John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess, Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daneils Band, A few D-Force songs, Stratovarius, Lots of country, etc...

LOL, I cant believe you listen to that FOOL. "earth people, i was born on jupiter"

Replace that with some "a tribe called quest" or some "cool kids"

personally, i can ony rock out the jamz on a cross country ride or riding dirt jumps. When i am riding downhill, it takes the focus off way too much. Music makes me unpinned.

Haha. Kool Keith is such an amazing rapper. Dr. Octagon songs like this are good to ride to:

I actually heard some cool kids songs for the first time, posted on a photo forum today. Good stuff!

There's this thing called South Park which brings such horrors as that to the light of day...

Barry Manilow, Michael Bolton, Yanni. It makes me ride faster so I can get to the bottom faster and turn that crap off until the next run...

Actually, it's more like Kevin, except the Mach 2 part, I'm more like mach .02

No music during DH. I like to pay a 100% attention to riding and I dont think id even hear the music when im doing at least Mach 2... :happydance:

I cant ride with music. I even have a hard time riding with a headband to keep my ears warm on the xc bike. I've gotten used to hearing certain sounds on my bike, and I start making mistakes when I don't hear them. I save music for the drive there and back.

Exactly. On my ride there and back it's all the songs from Earthed 4/5... and a couple from Earthed 3 as well.
